I am so grateful they took care of my girl with out needing 3k upfront. Saved her life. They are compassionate and truly care about your animal. ❤️

Absolutely wonderful experience. I couldn't have been any more pleased. Staff is super friendly, comforting and helpful. VCA seemed to really care for our situation unlike all the other vet offices . They took very good care of my dog zero . He had a emergency fractured jaw surgery. The surgery went very well. I highly recommend this vet office with anyone's fur babies .

Edit to Add (June 5): I spoke to the manager, Anna. She was very kind & apologized for all the miscommunications that I wrote below. No one told her to call me or she would have called me first thing Monday morning. If I would’ve worked with Anna from the beginning, I truly believe this review wouldn’t have happened. I am very thankful she is working to rehome our dog and was able to reimburse me for the euthanasia costs. I hate writing a negative review, but what happened to me has to be shared. My family has used VCA Animal Hospital for the past 30 years. When I got my dog 6 years ago, I brought her to VCA Sawmill. When we moved to Westerville, I transferred her care to VCA Westerville East Animal Hospital. When I transferred her care, I wasn’t impressed with how VCA Sawmill handled our care, but it was what I was familiar with so we stayed at the VCA franchise. On our first visit to VCA East Animal Hospital, I was impressed. I felt like they cared about our dog, which is a feeling I never had at VCA Sawmill. The only issue I had with VCA East Animal Hospital (at the time) was a lack of transparency on the service cost. My last visit with my dog cost $638, and I was unaware of how much the tests were costing until my card was in the card reader. Then 10 days later, the antibiotic they prescribed didn’t work with her UTI so I had to spend an extra $100 on a different antibiotic. Our dog started not acting like herself over the past year, however, the past few months were the hardest. On Wednesday, May 22, our entire life flipped upside-down. Our dog bit my son. It came out of nowhere. We were all shocked and my son was (and still is) traumatized. Our dog was always incredible with our kids. We always called her our “gentle giant”. My son was not disturbing her in any way, the dog just snapped for no reason. I didn’t know anyone who could take the dog, so I called VCA East Animal Hospital to put her down. After a 30-minute phone call with Alex, who consistently put me on hold without telling me he was putting me on hold, I spoke with Lauren. Lauren told me they had to contact Franklin County and the CDC to see what the procedure needed to be since our dog broke my son’s skin. She scheduled an appointment for us to come in that day. She called me back with pricing information, as we had 2 options: pay for her to stay at VCA for 10 days for roughly $410-$500 and then an additional cost to put her down or do a tissue sample that would cost over $1,000 and then pay for her to be put down. We opted for her to do the 10-day hold to save money. When we got there, I was met with hostility and judgment. Thankfully I brought my dad with me, as I had been crying all morning. I agreed to surrender our dog if they could find someone to care for her. They said they would call me if they found someone to take the dog and that we could work out the cost later. When I was in the car on my way home, they called and said they changed their mind and I needed to pay upfront. They had me pay for both the cost of the 10-day hold and putting her down. On Saturday, June 1 (10 days after we took our dog to VCA) I decided to call to see if there was an update on our dog, as I hadn’t heard anything. The woman I spoke to on the phone was incredibly rude. She shared that I surrendered the dog so I don’t have the right to know what happens to her. She shared that this was something her manager would have to handle. This whole experience was our worst nightmare come to life. Our dog was our family dog. We loved her so much, but we had to do what was best for our son and we were met with judgment and hostility. I have never been treated with such disrespect in my life. Learn from my mistake, do not take your pet to VCA East Animal Hospital.

I took my puppy in for concerns about a leg injury. The staff was friendly and efficient. Dr. Beckett was extremely knowledgeable and knew almost immediately what the issue was. A bottle of medicine later, and we were home!

Great services, caring and well trained staff!! My German Shepherd and our calico received outstanding care every visit <3 from a regular checkup to boarding. We had to bring our kitty in for bloody issues in her urine and we were given different treatment options in varying price ranges and made us feel comfortable with our choices. They checked up on us and made sure our meow meow had a successful treatment. Big dog likes going because they ask think he's sooooo handsome:) and he is!! We moved here from our of state and we feel blessed to have found such an amazing staff!! Five stars all the way!!
