My dog had something stuck in her paw. We arrived here at 8:05am on a Saturday. We stood in line for about an hour to check in/register. We were called to see the "doctor" at 10:50am. Pet owners cannot wait inside, so I dropped my dog off and waited in the car. I received a phone call two hours later saying "please come in for payment." I asked the lady what was done to my dog and what was I paying for, and she said it varies. My total was $99.50. After paying, she "discovered" what I was paying for. It was prescriptions along with a $35 office visit fee. The vet tech then told me that there was no thorn in my dog's paw and the medicine I was forced to purchase was for "just in case." My dog dog not need the medicine and this is how they squeeze you for money, very unethical. If there's an emergency, this is a good option, otherwise, I wouldn't recommend. The employees are dismissive, and don't have any customer service training.
I adopted my first cat ever on 8/1/24. The adoption process was easy and affordable. My cat is 10 months old and has been at the shelter since she was a kitten. She is vaccinated, spayed and chipped and cost $90 to adopt her. She’s been a wonderful cat! Highly recommend for adoptions!
With their prices, calling this place a low-cost animal clinic is an exaggeration, more like a lie. And i don’t know what hell they are doing back there with people’s pets. but when I came back for my dog the next day, she was shaking as if she was freezing. The bed I gave to them was wet all over and she had poop stuck under tail. 😠 😡. Luckily I had a blanket and was able to warm her up, but I took a long while to get her comfortable. Don’t recommend.
I’m not one to post reviews but this past weekend has put a bad taste in my mouth. First off I adopted my dog there, Toby who is currently 12 years old now and it was a good experience. Unfortunately this past weekend was the most disturbing experience I’ve ever encountered by another adult within the clinic facility. As my daughter and I were waiting our turn for shots my phone accidentally went straight to voicemail due to a phone setting but we ran in quickly into the clinic to let them know. As I notified the gentleman behind the desk he rudely stated, “Answer your phone! I’m passing you up!” I was in complete shock and couldn’t believe I was getting passed up after waiting a little over an hour and he took the next persons information and told us to step aside. He continued to say remarks in front of other customers and employees and I just couldn’t believe it. As he finished the next person he then took our information and we moved along and it took everything in me to remain calm as I was with my daughter who witnessed everything and my two dogs. Therefore I decided to call Monday and ask for the manger only for the same gentleman to answer the phone and not forward my call to a manger and claimed he was the manger. As I was started shared my experience he cut me off and said, “No one cares about your opinion” and hung up on me. I was speechless and honestly didn’t expect anything different. It’s disheartening knowing that people like this are working with animals. I’m disgusted by his actions and hope a mangers sees this and is able to redirect the employees on how to address customers. This facility is essential to the community and the animals it serves and I believe if the customer service was phenomenal they will receive much more in return. I will continue to show up and support and donate as the animals have nothing to do with the bad service they provide to their customers.
They’re doing the best they can! I adopted a dog from them& she was well cared for and loved for several months by the staff. Thank you.
AWL has provided excellent care for my pets over the years. Three of my cats from a stray mom have been spayed there, while a couple of other facilities I will not name, have turned me down because they found the animals not manageable. The staff at AWL has the expertise I needed. Strays can make great pets, if given time, love and patience. The advice I received at another facility was to contact animal control. Yet another facility provided me with misinformation. The clinic that they referred me to did not provide care to strays. Thanks to AWL, my cats received all the care needed. I consented to a dose of tranquilizer, just in case, for manageability. They all healed very well from spay surgery. Even one of my dogs I had adopted from AWL had a surgery there 8 years later and when it was time for my dog to cross the Rainbow Bridge, I chose AWL. I held my dog's paw in her last moments. The staff was sensitive to my needs, compassionate! I will be coming to AWL soon with a young stray kitty. AWL is the only place I can rely on. Exercise patience, as AWL has a high volume of animals to care for!
