Every staff member here is an Angel. I had to say goodbye to my girl under very unexpected circumstances. To wake up to a normal day and have to say goodbye to your cherished, loving pet only hours later is very traumatizing. With that being said, from the time I called, to arrival, to saying goodbye, everyone here was extremely kind, gentle, and empathetic. You could not have a better group to handle these tougher moments. The vet, techs, receptionist, and anyone else I came in contact with offered me comfort and compassion. I seriously cannot say enough positive words to describe the dedication of this staff. Facility is also very clean and well managed. If you are in a spot where you have to visit an emergency vet/ specialist, you can trust them to guide you and go above and beyond to help you and your pet.

New river and Dr Richardson are truly remarkable. Cheyenne was so compassionate taking care of River. We went to HHI for a weekend trip and ended up in emergency for our stressed out 3 yo golden. Highly recommend this team! We made it home thanks to their treatment plan!

This is the second time using New River for different pets. Unfortunately this most recent visit would be the last for our sweet boy Kole. What was one of our worst days was made a little more bearable because of the kind, compassionate and professional staff. I highly recommend New River Vet.

I can honestly say this has been one of the best experiences at an emergency veterinarian hospital. I am from Pennsylvania and moved here 18 mos ago. Unfortunately I have had the displeasure of visiting animal ER's on many occasions back home due to my crazy labs. I had to take my little boy in to New River due to an acute emergency! They were caring and he had exceptional care with a full recovery. Granted it was not cheap, but outstanding care is never cheap for pets or people! They were compassionate and up front about his care. Never felt pressured about doing treatment! Complete transparency and no surprise costs! I will not hesitate to go back if needed.......which I honestly hope doesn't happen again!!!! But thankfully I know I can count on them if something does arise!

One of my cats was referred to Dr. Kopp, a neurologist at New River Veterinary Specialists. The doctor and her team took care to review my cat’s records the night before her appointment, asked thorough questions about her lifestyle and symptoms, and did a thorough job explaining next steps in her treatment plan with me following a physical evaluation of her. I am feeling hopeful about getting my kitty back to feeling and acting like herself! Thank you Dr. Kopp and team for your help in delivering great care for my fur baby!

I highly recommend this animal hospital to anyone who has a sick or injured animal. They made a terrible experience go smoothly. I live near Savannah. After I got back from work, I found my kitten had removed her cone and opened up her incision site from being spayed. That’s a horrifying experience even if it wasn’t bloody. I called the majority of the Vet offices in Savannah and the surrounding area and was continually told that not only could my kitten not be seen but I wouldn’t even be able to talk to a vet. Some offices made me leave a voicemail which has not been answered even now (multiple days later). Eventually, I was told about New River Veterinary Specialists by the only office that had even offered to take my kitten in (I would have had to wait a full day). The receptionists was kind, got my information so I could get my kitten in faster when I got there, and they were taking her by the time I was halfway done with the paperwork. Both the veterinary nurses I saw were kind and attentive as well. They offered advice and answered every question. They also were gentle and understanding with my upset/injured kitten. The veterinarian I saw carefully explained my options and helped me to choose the best care for my kitten as well.
