Second Chance is the most wonderful place I have adopted from. I have been surrounded by animals my whole life, and it is so refreshing to see all the TLC that Second Chance gives their animals! I was a part of the student foster program last year; it was my first time volunteering with them. I fostered so many cats in my time there. This month, I adopted my sweet cat and the adoption process was so wonderful. Adopting my cat was the first time I have soley taken care of a cat (other than my past fostersand my parents' cats). People at Second Chance kept in contact with me after the adoption to make sure my cat was well and they offered all of the proper paperwork and gave me suggestions on what to do with food, medications, litter, and vet services. You can really tell how much the people who are involved with SC care, and every animal deserves that. I highly recommend adopting from Second Chance!

A week ago, my sons and I visited PetSmart and saw several black kittens. My kids are obsessed with Minecraft and have always wanted a black cat because of their love for the game. I immediately asked a worker about the adoption process. As soon as we left, I applied to adopt one of the kittens. I heard back quickly and was asked for my current vet's information so they could contact them. No problem. I waited to hear back but received no updates for a week, so I had to reach out myself. "Oh no I thought someone had checked in with you I had asked for some help with the applications but I see that didn't happen with everyone I apologize, we usually do a brief phone call before approving Are you available this evening to do a quick phone call?" We scheduled a phone call, but I was forgotten again. By this time, all the kittens were gone. This was a complete waste of time and now I have to disappoint my kids due to the significant lack of communication.

We adopted our kittens from these guys a week ago and we absolutely love them. The process was easy and accommodating and I definitely recommend others adopt from them as well.

I adopted the most sweetest two kitties about two weeks ago. The adoption process was so easy and Kristin along with the foster home was amazing help. I’m so glad to give these beautiful babies a loving home.

I love this organization. I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly working in the world of rescue and this is one of the best ones around. I love my cat that I adopted from them - the process was easy and everyone I have met and interacted with has been passionate and wonderful. I fully trust them to do right by the animals in their care and am SO grateful that Columbia has such a solid, reputable rescue!
