Arroyo West Veterinary Hospital came through for us when we were faced with an emergency for our pet. Dr. Gonda came in on his off day to help us. He was able to diagnose our dog quickly and arranged for surgery the next day. The entire staff were friendly and helpful. We were so impressed with this office, that we are switched to this group for our pets. Highly recommend.
Caring, compassionate, and professional. I’ve used other vets in the Conejo Valley, but none compare to Arroyo Vista Animal Hospital, and especially Dr. Gonda. Every vet, every vet tech, and every staff member are the best. I know my puppy is getting the best possible care.
Arroyo Vet and staff are amazing. Dr. Villano and Dr. Gonda are so thorough and both of them have saved a few of my dogs lives. They are miracle workers to me. This time it was Dr. Gonda who removed cancer from my beautiful baby then kept in contact with me about the results from the lab and a plan moving forward. My dogs are very reactive and none of the Doctors or staff will shy away from them and instead they make accommodations to be able to help them. They show so much kindness and compassion and I'm so grateful to have them in our lives. Karen is an angel on earth going above and beyond to help an animal and their family, Jackie, Brooke, Jen, Stewart and the rest of the staff who I can’t remember their names at the moment are some of the best people on earth. Arroyo is the best. Thank you Arroyo.
I have a very elderly chihuahua who has been through it all. Everyone at arroyo vista treats him like he is their own dog. I can’t thank them enough for the systems that are in place to make sure that I am reminded of his check ups to make sure we have him around for as long as possible.
Another amazing experience with Arroyo Vista Vet and Dr. Gonda! We thought we were losing our senior lab but he did further testing and assured us he will get to the bottom of his lump on his hip and come up with a good plan. The entire staff is always so friendly and helpful. They are like family at this office!
Edit: Business' reply of "sorry we do not have your name in our records" to attempt to falsify this review for other prospective customers is because AS MENTIONED IN THE REVIEW, it is our family's dog and she was taken to the vet by my parents. DO NOT COME HERE. Our poor 8 year old lab with a limp was misdiagnosed here with left knee ACL tear and ended up having CANCER (OSTEOSARCOMA) OF THE LEFT HIP. She died within 6 months because the cancer went undiagnosed, spread, and destroyed her & our family. The amount of pain and suffering she went through was devastating and I will never forgive this place or recommend it to ANYONE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! As a human ER doctor, I was infuriated when my parents told me that this place took X rays and diagnosed her with an ACL tear. YOU CANNOT SEE LIGAMENTS LIKE ACL ON X RAY, AN MRI IS REQUIRED TO MAKE THIS DIAGNOSIS!⚠️ This is how it is for humans, and dogs have even smaller ligaments, so the fact they diagnosed this on x ray is preposterous!!! Furthermore, they diagnosed the WRONG body part! Her cancer and pain was of the left hip, but they waved it off as LEFT KNEE acl tear. Due to this gross misdiagnosis, the cancer was allowed to spread unchecked, and our precious dog suffered immensely before passing away within six months. In the human world, this would 300% be a lawsuit. But because she is a dog, it wasn't. The most I can do after we experienced all this pain is leave this review to warn everyone else. Initially the symptoms improved because Arroyo Vista sent her home with Carprofen, an anti inflammatory pain medication. But this medication is going to improve pain/inflammation from cancer too. So it was a bandaid that masked the pain and symptoms which were of THE LEFT HIP, NOT THE LEFT KNEE!! They couldn't even diagnose the right body part! To add insult to injury, when we finally sought a second opinion from a more competent vet (because obviously the symptoms worsened over time), he was able to see the start of the cancer of the left hip on the initial X ray taken at Arroyo Vista- we were told that had the cancer been caught at the time she initially came to Arroyo Vista vet, our dog would have survived with treatment. By the time we started treatment it was too late because the cancer spread. This negligent misdiagnosis robbed us of precious time and subjected our dog to unnecessary pain and suffering. This experience has been utterly heartbreaking, and I cannot stress enough how important it is to seek a second opinion if you have any doubts about a diagnosis from this clinic. The level of care and attention to detail at Arroyo Vista Vet Hospital is severely lacking, and their inability to properly diagnose a serious condition like osteosarcoma is inexcusable. I urge other pet owners to be cautious and to seriously consider taking their pets elsewhere for proper medical care. Our furry family members deserve the best, and unfortunately, this place falls EXTREMELY short of that standard.
