I can't emphasize enough how wonderful this place is! Every member of the staff, including all the doctors, but especially Dr. Tawny, provides exceptional care! Every visit is a fantastic experience, and you can rest assured that your pet is receiving top-notch care. We would never take our fur baby anywhere else!
Took our Chihuahua there for a checkup, rabies shot, and to have her nails trimmed. You pull up to the window and they tell you where to park. The veterinarian herself came out and walked our dog and herself, you sit and wait in your car and they brought her out about 10 to 15 minutes later. The veterinarian was an older woman and very nice, my dog was completely comfortable around her. After they bring the dog back out to your car you pull up to the window again and pay and they give you all of the paperwork and any recommendations for future treatments they give you a printout with detailed costs. This is a very quick easy and convenient place to have your dogs treated. Everyone was super nice that I dealt with.
We've received excellent care here for my dog. Such knowledgeable, caring staff. I'm so impressed with the level of care and how dedicated they are. They truly listen to my concerns, and I appreciate that so much.
Wouldn't recommend- there are plenty of other, better vets in the KC metro. (LONG BUT WORTH THE READ!) I took my dog here 3 times- first was to get updated on her vaccines and just get a routine annual exam. At this appointment I made it very clear that she had very recently been rescued and went over a few health concerns I had- one of those being that she might have allergies. When we rescued her, she incessantly gnawed at and licked her paws, so much so that they were almost hairless and extremely red and inflamed. I went over what we had been doing to treat her at home but asked the vet on staff that day for guidance on what true treatment of the allergies would look like (meds? etc). The vet on staff that day went into a VERY long and drawn out story about his two pomeranians who also had the same paw licking issue- and advised us that he didn't think our dog had allergies at all and that it was likely "static electricity from the carpets bothering her when she runs/plays" (like his pomeranians)... which could be a possible explanation for some except for the fact that 1. the breed of dog we have is notorious for having allergies and 2. we don't have a single square inch of carpet, anywhere in our house, at all. The second time we visited this clinic, it was over an episode of vomiting our dog had. After doing some very simple physical evaluations and confirming we had no suspicion she had consumed anything she wasn't supposed to, the doctor explained that it was probably just your typical, run of the mill stomach upset and that we should feed her bland food like chicken/rice and monitor for other symptoms. If I remember correctly, the vet also gave an injection of anti nausea med. I thought, fair enough, and brought her home. Later that night, we fed her the boiled chicken and white rice which caused her to subsequently break out in full body hives. After consulting with a nearby emergency vet, we gave her Benadryl (which cleared the hives quickly) and brought her right back to the vet clinic first thing in the morning the next day. A new vet, separate from the other two, consulted us this time. I went thru the whole run down of what had happened- the vomiting, the visit to their clinic, the chicken and rice, and the hives. The new vet advised that my dog was probably allergic to chicken (duh) and that it was a very common allergy for my breed. They also recommended I buy an 80$ (!!!) bag of allergy friendly dog food to feed her and see how that went. I obliged to buy the dog food, but also asked whether they thought the allergies and the vomiting could be related and what could the other causes of the vomiting be. To which they said, essentially, "not sure, could be a few different things. we could do blood work if you want." to which I said "ok.... what could it be though? do you think one episode of vomiting by its self is a severe enough symptom to warrant a full blood panel?" and they responded "well, it could be... but there's really no way to tell unless we run a test." to which I said "ok, once again though, what could cause the vomiting?" and they responded with, "well, could be a blockage, could be organ failiure, could be nothing." to which I responded, "ok, but if it were one of those other things, would she not have other symptoms as well?" and they said "it's possible she could have other symptoms, yes, but not always." Safe to say- I got NOWHERE with that conversation. So after 15 mins of back and forth with weird vague answers I decided to just cut my losses, buy the food and see how that went. However, when I returned home, I checked the ingredients on this bag of food they told me to feed my dog who just had a severe allergic reaction to chicken- and CHICKEN WAS THE 3RD INGRENDIENT. I wish I was kidding. All of this to say, I do not trust this clinic one bit. I think they hire vets who won't know what they're talking about and their sole goal is to drain your wallet and leave you questioning enough you have to come back multiple times. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
My sweet 11 year kitty had a scheduled appointment for his yearly vaccination. It was 4 below zero that morning. My kitty does not like the car, or his carrier, so the 24 hour strategy had begun. I got to the vet, and they came out, and took my kitty in. (They are busy building on to their facility). 10 minutes later, I was told the vet stepped out, and I could leave my kitty and come back later. My schedule did not allow, so they asked if they could put on the flea and tick. I said sure. I pulled back up to their drive through window to pay for the flea and tick and have my kitty put back in the car. They charged me $5 to put the flea and tick on my kitty! Time to find a new vet!
They take excellent care of my dogs. They have all been going here since they were puppies. I don't trust anyone else with them. Highly recommend!
