Drove over to donate clothing, household items, and electronics; a good amount of it was brand new. Despite not closing for another two hours, they didn’t want to accept it as they only accept donations in the middle of the afternoon. Not wanting to miss work since I was the one helping them, went over to Goodwill who were more than thankful for a quality donation.

I was looking forward to donating to Yolo SPCA’s thrift shop since I adopted my dog from Yolo SPCA & wanted to further support their cause. I researched their donation hours and drove from Sacramento to Davis expressly to donate a wealth of framed art, antiques, and Restoration Hardware lamps. When I arrived on Saturday at noon, I observed their donation sign which noted lamps were not accepted, which was fine. However, the man at the donation station said he couldn’t take ANY of my items, despite framed art not being listed as a no-go. Like others said, I had to take my donations to the nearby Goodwill which accepted everything. Very disappointing. I will let others know NOT to donate here since donations are largely not accepted or valued.

Will rate minus 100 star if I could. Drove over to donate two good book cases, we drove from out of town after work, and OBVIOUSLY, we are 4 mins late, their donation closes at 4 and we arrived 4:04pm. All we got is “no there is nothing I could do”, we offered him unload and do anything we could to help, and all he could say was “no”, with his headphones on. Just ridiculous, spending all the time and gas money just trying to donate something so the money could go to the animals. And you wonder why it is so hard to do good things. The only reason I want to donate there is because of the animals. I understand there are rules and time, but we were 4 mins late, and we were from out of town, we tried our best to make it the second we were done with work. NEVER AGAIN.

Update: the store has improved and they’ve been hiring awesome people recently! There has been a lot of cute clothes! Definitely recommend.

best thrift store in davis! i never leave empty handed! lots of unique clothes and wares, most for pretty cheap. staff is very friendly too :-)
