My cats doctor was Chris Elder, very caring and I was actually aloud in the room unlike Halifax Vet Center. Their technician was Cristina and she did an amazing job as well!!! Everyone upfront was staying busy and making sure that everyone was helped. I was very impressed. It’s hard when doctors are either out to just make the big bucks or we have the good doctors who are honest and make sure your animals are actually getting the help that they deserve! May God Bless all of you here and keep up the great work! I definitely found my new veterinarian clinic for my lil girls xoxoxox
After being recommended here from my local vet, I was a little nervous, never having taken a bird to the vet. Upon calling the office, I had so many (what I thought were silly) questions on taking them in, trimming beak, wings, and even what to bring him in, and they answered them so kindly, not once making me feel incompetent or annoying as I have at other vet offices. Upon arriving, I was greeted with so much warmth, which is something I strive to find for my furred and feathered babies. The entire staff greeted Comet with such love and care. Once called back with Miss Jessie, I knew I was in the right place. She has been in vet care for 15 years and has the most patience and care. She is knowledgeable and so bubbly it's contagious. Dr. Anderson had come in to examine Comet, and I was blown away. His care, knowledge, and skill set are the best I've seen with any bird in my life. He is a huge advocate on pellet diets and spent so much time just explaining his experiences in switching over and tips I can implement to get my baby switched over. After 3 days and his amazing advice, I have successfully gotten Comet to eat pellets. I had tried in the past to get him to eat it, but he just would not take to it. I am so happy to be able to help other bird parents successfully switch over and look forward to getting my little Zebra Finch, Shu, to switch over later this week as well. Comet says hello and thank you for the good food and tips for his mom. Thank you guys, you're amazing. 👐 I am very impressed by this office and recommend them to all who love their pets. 10/10 ✨️
From beginning to end, we had an amazing experience. Very thankful. Moved to Port Orange 9 months ago and had not established care. My 14 year old dog Lucy was in bad shape. I really thought it was her time to cross the rainbow. We had recently placed her in dog boarding for 2 days while we were on a cruise and once we returned her health started declining quickly. Apparently playing all day in the heat with all those other dogs was too much for her. She was wincing in pain, drooling, and couldn't walk. I was terrified. I called Ravenwood and the front desk was amazing. Very calm, very reassuring. They agreed to see Lucy and told us to immediately bring her in to see Dr. Maggie Low. While in the lobby, our dog kept falling down. We were prepared for bad news. My husband was sick to his stomach. We were asked to leave her and told we would get a call soon. I really thought it would be hours, but they were true to their word and called within an hour and a half. Dr. Low called and she literally sounds like an Angel. What an amazing disposition and person. She never rushed me and answered all my questions. I was told Lucy had arthritis and degenerative disc disease which is why her spine shows and she can't grip the floor. She has no traction left for her back legs. It causes pain and I think she was just exhausted. Dr. Low gave her an injection and we were given an anti inflammatory and pain meds for home. We also purchased a Senior Package Plan which does all her blood work, plus an ultrasound, and a full body x-ray. We have rarely ever had to bring Lucy to the vet. We did not mind our bill and found it to be reasonable considering her condition. I was actually very grateful to see that they accept CareCredit which allows us to pay over months with no interest. We have a follow-up plan and within 3 days now, Lucy is walking, eating, and back to begging for her treats. She got a brand new top of the line doggie bed and she is as spoiled as ever. This couldn't have turned out better for us. I know Lucy is 14 and one day we will get bad news, but for right now we still have our girl! Thank you to everyone at Ravenwood, you are truly Angels! Bless you all for helping animals. ❤️🐾🙏
Cool ecclectic building and decor, great atmosphere, beautiful screened porch for outside dining, "decent" pizza, and fairly good service. I could see going back to watch a sporting event, but not necessarily if I wanted an outstanding pizza. To be fair, while it's probably above average for the area, it certainly isn't remarkable. It just misses that "wow" factor... maybe a more flavorful sauce or better cheese? I would definitely go back, I just won't have the expectations I had. We also tried a slice of rainbow cake made by the "cake boss" during our visit, and we found it to be outstanding... but things went south after it reached room temperature. Maybe it's just better served cold.
DO NOT GO HERE. I wish I could give them zero stars. Recently my bunny hurt his leg, and I called around and tried to find the best vet possible for him. When I contacted RavenWood, they assured me that they had great vets that specialized in rabbits, and that they had seen numerous ones before. So I set up an appointment for the next day over the phone and the lady was nice enough to give me all the estimated prices, so I knew what to expect when it was time to pay. They explained to me that since he was a bunny, I could not go in the back with him and I would have to drop him off. They would then give me a call when he was ready to be picked up. After the first appointment, my bunny was all wrapped up nicely, and Ashley (the vet/technician) told me that there would be a 4-6 week process of bringing him back weekly, so they could re-bandage his hind leg. They also explained to me that the break in hospital leg was a nasty break right below his femur. So they sent him home with some meds and that was all. I requested that they email me the x-rays of his leg. (They never did, even when I asked the 2nd and 3rd time). I came back weekly for 2 weeks on time and never missed an appointment. During that second week, he started to have noises coming from his stomach similarly to what you would hear when you’re starving or have an upset stomach. I called them about this, and they told me to just spray apple juice on his food, but they never specified which kind was actually safe for him. Therefore, I just kept a close eye on him and made sure he was still eating and drinking and using the bathroom routinely, which he was. On Dec. 15th, I brought him in for his weekly check up, and they assured me that he was doing well, and they didn’t have to sedate him as he was easy to work with when doing the re-bandaging process. After they brought my bunny out, I talked to the technician about what I could do for him at home as I was going to drive back home for winter break. The technician told me that there really wasn’t much I could do besides keep him in a small area where he couldn’t move as much to lessen the chance of him making his condition worse. The technician also told me that they had rescheduled me for a week out and we left. I got home that same day and a week later my bunny passed away. I was completely heartbroken as he was only almost 3yrs old and perfectly healthy before this. He had just went to the vet for his check up and was completely healthy. I took my bunny with me everywhere and he was my emotional support. We decided to unwrap his leg to see just how bad it looked and, to my surprise, they didn’t even shave his leg or even trim it. My dad basically was ripping his hair out trying to unwrap my bunny’s leg. This led me to believe that they were never fully changing the bandage like they told me they were doing. So how were they even assessing his leg every week correctly if they never even fully looked at it? To get a better opinion, I called my bunny’s main veterinarian to explain what happened and what was going on, and she told me that they should’ve at least shaved him and that there was no way they were actually checking his leg during the weeks I brought him. After calling two more times after his death, they finally sent me his x-rays and the only break was his fibula. Overall, I would say I wouldn’t suggest bringing RavenWood your bunny, even if there’s no other vet around. If I could go back in time and not bring him, I definitely would.
Dr. Emerson is the absolute best. She’s so incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, detailed, she’s so caring, and the ONLY person we trust with our baby. She has saved our little girl’s life multiple times. We owe everything to her. Her nurses, Natalia, Nicole, and Emma are also amazing. The front desk is great. We moved to FL from NY to be closer to Dr. Emerson. She’s our hero.
