Description Originally opened in 1992 as Avocado Animal Clinic by Dr. Olson, Avocado clinic was purchased in 2015 and turned into a hospital by Dr. Cepero and her husband/practice manager Aniel Gomez. In the fall of 2021, the hospital moved 9 blocks south to a new 3000 sq ft stand alone building to better serve our community. We are a family owned practice and pride ourselves in leading the city of Homestead in top-notch veterinary care and services.
Fast service, attention to detail, love and willingness to give you all the information you need. My dog was sick, really sick and in here she got hope. This animal hospital is the best in Florida City. Prices are not crazy, they offer help and ways to save your pet.
An amazing vet clinic, I've told everyone I know to come here. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially in stressful situations. The Veterinarians are extremely knowledgeable and explain everything very well. The prices are very reasonable, but I would strongly recommend making an appointment do not just walk in unless you are willing to wait 3+ hours, and if it's an emergency call on your way there so they are expecting you. And they see more than just cat's and dogs, which is amazing!!! Highly recommend!!!
We all love our Fur Babies. It's nice to know that the staff of Avocado Animal Hospital do too. I needed a new vet doctor for my new baby, Dobby, and they were fantastic. Professional and caring staff. Prices were reasonable for services. Highly recommend! Dobby gives his stamp of approval.
I'm so happy I found Acocado Animal Hospital. Dr. Cepero is amazing! Honestly, the whole staff was amazing! My Sherry (dog) needed her teeth cleaned urgently and they made it happen. I'm so grateful. The cost was more than reasonable and the care top notch. They truly cared about my Sherry.❤️
Avocado Animal Host has fallen apart since it was took on new ownership a few years ago. I would take my animals to the old place when the older Veterinarian owned it and let me tell you, He knew his animal and their ailments!!! The new management are unethical, lack experience, and they price gouge you every time with little or no results in finding a cure for your pet. I took my older Yorkie a few days ago on a walk in at noon since I couldn’t get an appointment. They walked me in at closing time. I noticed the other Veterinarians were not present. My Yoekie come down with severe gagging, chocking, vomit/slime coming out of her nose and mouth and has lost more than half her weight in the last month. She can’t eat and hardly drinks water. After I explained this to the staff, they returned with a written estimate of $349.00 for everything being done in order to get her back to health. I said “yes, please proceed”. After a few X-rays and blood work, the presumed Veterinarin lady explained that everything looked great except for the backed-up poop on her intestines. So they said they would inject some type of fluid to relieve that. She also said that one of the markers on the blood work was extremely off and suggested to test for heart worm. It came back negative!! They didn’t suggest any further tests and sent us away…with no results nor answers. At the front desk, I noticed that the original statement went up to almost $500.00 dollars!!!! When I inquired, they said the test for heart worm was “extra!!”😳 Are you kidding me!!!! They didn’t solve my dogs condition, they rushed the tests and didn’t pursue further to find the root cause of my dog’s illness. It was closing time and the Vet even said she was exhausted!!! But they didn’t hesitate to bill me $500.00 dollars for… nothing!!! This is called “daylight robbery”. People, you need to wake up and take your pets elsewhere!!! Not only are these folks unethical, they are crooks!!!!! Seems they don’t care about a pets health, only the amount or customers they get daily and to cash in on the trust we put in these so called “Animal Doctors”. Now a days all you need is a busyness license to “legally” rip off the public!!! Avocado Animal Hospital is doing just that!!!!! Wake up people!!!!!!
One of the worst vet office I ever visited. I called this morning and I asked the front desk if they check on birds and they told me yes. She said the morning was already busy, but I could be there at 1pm, even though they come back from lunch at 2:30 pm. She said, first come, first serve. I got there before 1pm. It was only 2 ladies with their dogs there. The front desk receptionist wasn’t very happy to receive me, even though she had not seen the bird yet. She said they were busy and that the doctor was out of the office. Since my bird needed immediate attention because he’s not eating and has swelling feet, I didn’t mind to wait. I did the registration and the other girl next to her told me to seat and wait. Sooner a lady came after me and they did the paper registration for her. At that moment she didn’t have the animals with her. About 2pm the receptionist that received me, got the papers from 2 patients and went to see the doctor back in the office. She was complaining saying that they needed to do something about because apparently it was many patients. When she came back she said that they don’t see birds. I told her that in the morning they said yes. She aswened, not for a condition like not eating and swelling feet. She said that the lady that came after me had 4 puppies. That lady came after me, because first come, first serve. I request that the doctor at least see my bird because I was concern that he might die, since is smal animal. She refused. She called another vet in Miami, but they had not appointment for today, only tomorrow with a front deposit of $117.00. She also told the other lady that was in front of me to leave and the lady started crying because her dog was not doing well. I’m extremely disappointed and I told her how insensitive she was with the animals and the families. For her is just an animal, for us is like part of our families. Unfortunately I didn’t get her name, but she got short black hair, and hispanic. This is a shame!!!
