I was surprised to see a number of one star reviews because I had a great experience here. I actually called MASH first and they said they were at full capacity so they couldn't take my dog in, which to me is ridiculous because you don't see human ERs turn people away just because there's a lot of people there. Second, VCA saw my dog right away. The facilities were super clean and professional looking, better than any vet I've been to. All of the employees were super sweet and helpful. They addressed all of my concerns. My baby cut his leg and they got it stapled up right away and sent me home with antibiotics. The cone they gave me is rather floppy and he's managed to learn how to get out of it, but everything else was great. They even charged me less than they quoted me over the phone. While it's going to be more expensive than a regular vet, think of it like an urgent care you'd go to when you need something right away when you can't get into a vet after hours. I was overall impressed.
This vets negligence cost my dog his life. I read the bad reviews four years ago when I got a dog. I thought that crazy people write ranting crazy 1 star reviews and this vet is two blocks from my house. I was wrong. I can barely put into words how bad this place is. I discovered a lump that was changing sizes under my dogs ear two years ago. I brought my dog here no less than 6 times about this issue and each time I was told it was allergies and a cyst. I was charged between $300 and $600 for the visit and the medication each time. A week ago the lump under his ear swelled up and started to bleed. I went back to VCA TLC and they told me that I needed to go to VCA West LA for a biopsy. VCA West LA let me know that my dog has stage 3 cancer, it is now inoperable and he has a couple months left to live. They told me that had VCA TLC been more proactive and given me correct information he could have had surgery two years ago and been fine. I have no idea how these people live with themselves. But I beg you if you care at all about your pet - go to ANY other vet. Literally any vet on the planet is better than this one. I just have to believe that some day each person working here will get what it is that they deserve, I cannot imagine that it is easy to live with yourself when you are this evil. I've included images of my dog the day I brought him in where he looks relatively normal last week and what has progressed since. I just want to reiterate, had I gone to a real vet - most likely ANY other vet - this could have been avoided. YOU can avoid this. I wish more than anything I had paid more attention to the information available about this place.
A few months ago, as we were very new to LA, my little cockapoo started throwing up. On the first day I didn’t think too much of it, on the 2nd day I called my vet at home that told me to try medication and if that didn’t work I needed to take her to a vet in LA. On the 3rd day, I got home from work and she had thrown up the pill, and more concerning there was blood in the throw up. I called a few vets to see if they could get me in (most hadn’t closed yet) and all said no. I then called MASH and then this VCA. The other place wanted $1more (~$190) (the just to be seen fee - not diagnosed - is outrageous at both emergency clinics) but they said they couldn’t guarantee my baby would be seen. When I called VCA they said it was a roughy 1 hour wait or more but that I would be seen. I was seen in less than an hour, and the whole time from the frantic phone call (on my end) to walking out with my pup was met with such kindness, calm, and knowledge employees at VCA. My pup received anti-nausea medication, A subcutaneous IV to rehydrate her, and a medication to coat her sore throat as it was raw and sore (hence the blood) from throwing up for 3 days. They sent me home with 2 drugs (anti-nausea & throat coating), instructions on how to use the medications and side-effects, some soft food for her sore throat, and a little bag to hold it all. In total I spent $500 for the visit. Pros: Location (for me) Clean inside Caring and kind staff Calm staff Knowledgeable doctors Not TOO pushy on additional services (like X-Rays). Too no thank just fine. Able to see my dog in less than an hour (when I went at least) Cons: Cost $$$ - just to be seen was around $189 I believe. That doesn’t include medication, exam, etc. Parking - has free parking lot but it is very small and shared so not a lot of spaces. There is street parking, but can be a bit difficult to find. I was fortunate enough that there was a space open in the lot when I arrived. Overall, in an emergency I would take my dog here. But I would follow up to those with the very bad reviews here - ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION! You know your pet best. If you feel that the first diagnosis is wrong/doesn’t feel right, get a 2nd, or even 3rd opinion.
I have had an amazing experience with this office over the past few months. My Pitbull Sky has been experiencing some health issues since March, and we needed to find her a specialist. I am elated that I found Dr Feldman, him and his team have been incredible to me & my pup! They have been reliable, genuinely caring, helpful, and super communicative with me through this entire process & even check in on Sky in between our appointment visits. Specialty care is not cheap, but the care we have received is worth every penny. It was definitely scary for me navigating all of her health issues through the pandemic, and trusting that they were giving her the best care, as I was not able to go into the office with her because of covid protocols. Today, now that everything has opened up, I was able to go in with Sky and could finally able to meet Dr Feldman in person, and was so delighted! I’ve never seen my dog so calm and happy at the vet! All of the staff remembered her & treat her so well with so much love and care. I will never go anywhere else for as long as Sky is around. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH ❤️❤️❤️
While our recent visit to VCA TLC was filled with sadness due to the unexpected passing of our beloved Mojo Jojo, I want to express our utmost gratitude to the caring team who provided compassionate care during a difficult time. Audrey, Zach, and Dr. Min treated us and our beloved Mojo Jojo with respect and dignity, making a difficult experience slightly easier to bear. Their genuine care and understanding will never be forgotten. I’d like to add an additional special shoutout to Audrey and Zach for their kindness. To Audrey for preparing Mojo’s paw print and final fur cut as a keepsake and also for her warmth and kindness throughout our tearful goodbye. Zach was also very understanding of us taking our time in saying goodbye. Audrey and Zach both seem like excellent, genuine people and we are very grateful that they are in the world and helping care for pets.
Really wonderful experience with Dr. Yashari. He was gentle and kind with our pup. He made sure to update us with the differential, explained what exams had been done/ could be done, and provided options for next steps. He was honest and understanding. Overall the vet was great. The office was clean and we were seen in an incredibly timely manner. Really appreciated everything!
