My dog was one of the animals rescued from this hell hole when it was shut down. He was sent to Downey animal shelter severely malnourished, and sick. I’ve been taking care of him since January and trying to help him recover from the abuse he endured. He was so thin and frail, that all of his bones were showing. It took him two months of extra meals before he was able to regain his weight. He is terrified of men. Terrified people going in and out of doors. The sounds of doors. Sounds of keys. Men’s voices. It’s been almost 7 months now since adopting him and we are still trying to undo the damage the Compton animal rescue inflicted on him.

My Twin Sister and I needed someone to take our adorable Malti-Poo. We inherited him from our Aunt's who passed away from Breast Cancer. We are now selling her home and could not find anyone to take him. We called the Compton Animal Rescue and they were excited and ready to pick up Jordan! They sent a Beautiful Young Lady who had such a gentle spirit with Jordan. We are so grateful for them and pray and hope that Jordan finds a wonderful new family and home. I walked into my kitchen only to fine a NASTY UGLY POSSUM eating my cat's food. I called the sheriff's and they told me to call the Dog catcher . They gave me a 12 hour ETA. I googled animal control and this Wonderful company came up. I called and within 15 minutes, they arrived and humanely captured the possum. I am forever grateful . I wish I could post the video 👍🏾

The founder claims his name is Damian. He is abusive towards animals & starves them. The FBI raided his place about 2 days ago due to the inhumane conditions these animals were in. I surrendered my dog to him a couple of days ago & when i tried to reach out to ask how my dog was doing, he kept declining & ignoring my calls. I found his personal instagram & reached out for answers & he told me he had no “info” since there is an ongoing investigation. He then ignored my message & never replied. He has been on instagram deleting comments regarding his abuse & making jokes about his abuse & denies everything. He made a go fund me to keep his so called “rescue” open, however, he doesn’t even feed the animals. The animals literally eat each other, he lets them die & doesn’t even dispose their bodies. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!! HE IS ABUSIVE & PSYCHOTIC! HE’LL LET ANIMALS STARVE

His facility was raided and over a hundred animals were confiscated due to awful conditions and neglect. Dogs eating other dogs. Many sick and requiring euthanasia..

Third place is the best. The couple who run it are awesome and super knowledgeable about all kinds of animals. They are doing the best they can with the room, supplies and funds that are available to them. I've donated some extra pet supplies to them twice so far and have another bag of food I need to find the time to go drop off asap. They give you tax credit forms for any donations. They had all sorts of animals they were taking care of when I went in to their locations. There were two great Danes, a big tortoise, a peregrine falcon, a peacock, bunnies, guinea pigs, a really sick little kitten and some other cats and dogs. They didn't have much room left at their location. I hope they can continue to do their important work...
