My baby girl💖 had to go here for 2 nights 😭 But she was microchipped, and got some toys. I noticed no toys were back with the animals but a barrel full in the front office? Why can't the dogs have them? Anywyas thanks for taking care of my baby girl!

It has almost been a year ago that my dad adopted a Labrador from Waxahachie Animal Control. I went out on a whim to see what dogs were available, Sadly there were a lot of dogs in need of homes. Any size, shape, color, or temperament can be found here. I was shocked to find out how few animals are rescued every year. This is a picture of Boone. He is by far one of the smartest dogs i have ever been around. He was about 9 months old when we adopted him. He is now micro-chipped (thanks to WACC) and received a clean bill of health before we took him home. PLEASE go by and see if your new best friend could be a rescue before buying from a dog breeder. The staff here was very helpful and kind in what i would think must be a very difficult job. Update: recently our dear Boone decided to go visit his friends at animal control after escaping his backyard. We were very thankful Boone has a microchip that allowed them to contact us by phone to give him a ride home. Thanks again!

Very kind and polite. Answered all my questions as this was the first time to have my dog picked up. Terry was very understanding and helpful. They took great care of my dog too. Shelter was clean and easy to find.

Surrendered dogs due to infant had a change of heart and called next day to find out dogs were euthanized in less than 22 hours. The practices are not ethical and they do not put the animal's fears and being scared into consideration before ruthlessly injecting them with liquid death. My wife and I are destroyed by our decision to surrender our dogs to this place. The dogs would had a better chance life if we would have dumped them off somewhere. Sad to think I could trust Animal Control.
