Description We are an animal hospital (vet clinic) which deals with all furred, feathered, scaled pets as well exotic animal care. We are the recommended Vet Clinic by Georgia House Rabbit Society based upon the massive amount of rabbits under our care. We see more rabbits in a week than most clinics see all year. I cannot say enough good things about Windward, Dr. Colby, and the staff here. Dr. Colby has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all animals, but especially rabbits. He has been able to help our chronically ill bunny TREMENDOUSLY. His expertise, experience, and huge heart have made all the difference for our little Louis bunny. I cannot thank Windward or recommend them enough.

I don’t know what I would do without you guys. The pricing was right in line with other clinics that we called. It was worth the trip for us to come all the way from Dawsonville.

I came here to post a review on Windward Animal Hospital and got caught off guard about the previous persons’ review. This by no means is the experience that I have had at Windward Animal Hopsital over the past years. I have had the pleasure of dealing with Dr. Colby on many occasions when caring for my pets. He, and his staff, have always been extraordinarily helpful, knowledgeable, and patient with me as I always have a lot of questions. There is not a practice that I have more faith in and will continue to bring all of my fur kids here!

My sister lost her companion and friend (a bearded dragon named Larry) today not even an hour after bringing him to this vet. 2 weeks ago she brought him in because she noticed he wasn’t eating, using the restroom, and had formed a lump on the side of his body near his head. At his visit they gave her dog food & medicine to be giving him daily, and also told her that the lump DID NOT indicate that there was any underlying disease or anything wrong. They also took an X-ray of him & said it showed no concerns. My sister followed their instructions and believed her pet would get better. At his appointment today, they finally did blood work and told her that they were optimistic her pet was healthy and would get better. Less than an hour later, he was found unresponsive. My mom called the vet office immediately and they told us to give him a warm water soak, which would probably ‘shock’ him back to life. This of course did not work. This review is not to play the blame game, but it was truly a shock to have lost such a lovely little guy the way my sister had to lose him today. We take our pets to the vet the same reason we go to the doctor if we don’t feel well. We are supposed to trust that the vet will cover all bases and do thorough exams, providing well informed diagnoses and treatment. This wasn’t the case here. It is sad and disappointing, but on the bright side, Larry can rest with the earth once again. He will be missed.

If you have an exotic pet, you know finding a vet can be difficult! I highly recommend Dr. Stuart Colby at Windward Animal Hospital! My daughter’s leopard gecko wasn’t feeling so hot. Dr. Colby was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and patient! He and his staff thoroughly answered all of my questions! He even took the time to talk to my daughter about her passion for animals. He also was very complimentary of my daughter for identifying the illness in its very early stages, which is important for a scared, young kiddo!

Dr. Colby is amazing. We have 2 bunnies, 3 ferrets, and a bearded dragon he sees for annual check ups. We've also had the occasional emergency and he never fails to get us in and care for our pets. He is a wealth of knowledge and his staff is professional and friendly.
