Wonderful experience with Alexandrea and Cindy. We found our forever pup and are so happy to welcome Jaxson to our family! They were kind, patient, and very pleasant. 10 out of 10, Would recommend! The process was quick and seamless.

Such a loving and compassionate place for rescues. The staff is top notch! I got my dog there and his personality is exactly what I was told….a happy go lucky little guy. And my friend got his dog there and they’re both very happy. They’re honest with you about what to expect from the dogs and their love for what they do is obvious.

I adopted my best friend from this wonderful shelter. I know that my pup Valentine is grateful for our wonderful experience! Also, my precious granddog Magoo and his parents are equally as thankful to have such caring people making sure that he also found a great home too. Thanks Alex and Judy and the rest of the team. Beautiful people with beautiful hearts that really care about the animals. 💖

Wonderful experience with the staff. Alex and everyone was so nice and our adoption went very smooth. I love how everything is digital and if at any time you need to reference records they are right there in my email. Maybelle was a perfect addition to our home!

We adopted our fur baby (Mal) now Pumpkin from Alexandra and the staff couldn't be more welcoming with adopters. They are so loving to the animals. Nice and clean facility. Humanes Society of Highlands County works hard and tries to help every animal in need. I witnessed their compassion when I was adopting my baby. I will always adopt from here. Thank you for all the hard work you do for these sweet animals.

Posting since my friend’s post was removed. I would suggest taking your animal/animals elsewhere and these photos sure why. A man I just walked out with his dog after he received surgery and seconds later he comes back in with his dog pouring blood from his stomach area. The man said he was told the dog didn’t have stitches and no mention of glue was had to him. Sadly, he left there with no answers regarding his dog and Judy was so rude to him and had the audacity to say to him “things happen”. She was rude to everybody in the office waiting for their animals. There was no rush to help the animal as it’s blood poured on his owner’s feet, the people in the waiting room we’re shocked how long it took someone to come open the door and how long it took for them to clean the blood. They kept telling the receptionist to call again and tell them to hurry! I understand accidents happen but with Judy’s awful attitude and the carelessness from the front staff is beyond believable! My animals will never step foot in that place and I hope yours either!!!!
