I am so glad I was able to make it out there today and help out a little with transport. Augie is a handsome boy and the rest of the babies there as well. Its unfortunate they are so underfunded as they are. I look forward to helping you all the best I can and getting others on board as well ❤️ Keep up the great work y'all
The staff is so sweet and the animals seemed so happy when I visited. I adopted my cat from here and I love her so much!!
I adopted a wonderful kitten from this shelter. She is my favorite cat that I have owned so far. The adoption process was quick and thorough. I was explained her medical history and background so I knew what I was getting into. She was in a humane enclosure when I initially saw her and seemed happy enough for her situation. I definetly will keep this shelter in mind if I ever want to adopt another cat.
These people work hard to find homes and rescues for all the animals in their care. I adopted my last two dogs there and having seen this shelter in many years past, this is a great improvement. Thank you all for your caring and compassionate hearts.
I went to the shelter on a friday to meet a puppy that was up for adoption with my little girl. When we went into the shelter we were informed that the puppy had kennel cough and could not be adopted till her medication was completed which would be the following Tuesday. I told them that I was very interested in adopting her and would come back Tuesday when her medication would be completed and adopt her. They took my info and said they would give me a call. I was telling a family member about her and looked her picture up on FB and that is when I seen she had been transferred to Brother Wolf Rescue. I did receive a call from Madison County animal shelter on Tuesday that the puppy I had planned to adopt had been picked up by Brother Wolf Rescue on the same day that I had said I wanted to adopt her and if I was still interested I could adopt her from them. By the time Brother Wolf returned my call the puppy that my family had planned on adopting into our family had already been adopted by others. This all took place from Friday to Wednesday. This has been very upsetting experience. I understand that there is many other dogs out there that need loving homes but went you finally find one after many months of looking that will fit your family and it slips through your hand because of carelessness of others it's not a good experience.
A great shelter with caring staff. They go through all the appropriate steps to ensure an environment that is as humane as possible for their animals, they have vets come to perform basic medical examinations, and they go out of their way to provide enrichment for their animals. They are efficient and compassionate and a great place to consider if you are looking to adopt.
