Shout out to the community… Newberry, animal, control and shelter, are inundated with the pit Bull population of that area… I’m just reaching out to people to urge you to spay and neuter your pets! It’s crucial in our fight to stop the killing of these precious babies through jail house euthanasia… Did you realize the dog spelled backwards is God?
I will never adopt from the shelter again they give you animals that have health conditions that they do not tell you about I I found out that a lot of the dogs that they get are deaf or have hearing problems they will give you these dogs and not tell you anything and swear up and down that there is nothing wrong with the dog they're not taking proper care of these dogs they hose them down instead of giving them a comfortable bathing my dog is afraid of the water hose which lets me know that there is trauma there can't even water my grass without the dog running off back to the porch this is crazy
I adopted from Newberry and this place is disgusting. They don’t even attempt to clean. Not only is it nasty but I had to point out a dead animal for them because they didn’t even see it. They also load animals up in a box truck, no air conditioning, no ventilation, nothing! Not sure if they realize but we live in the south and it’s 100 degrees outside! They take those animals to Columbia to get spay/neuter and shots and my only thought is in this heat they only get those things IF they survive the ride there in a box truck in this heat!!!!! This shelter needs to be shut down or new staff or a new director because this is ridiculous!
These people are so delusional that they act like everyone who walks through the door has a wrap sheet of harming animals: i.e., carry on with stuck up attitudes and hatred/condescension that honestly requires a lot of deliberate effort. I understand they’re overwhelmed and “doing the best they can”, but, uh, can’t expect a dog to leave this place in decent, domesticated shape when the feral workers can’t even treat fellow humans with compassion. They gaslight people into adopting animals without understanding that animal and human compatibility is a valid requirement for successful adoption. Hence the endless loop of strays and unwanted animals that cycle through. Sigh. Poor animals. Maybe they’d have higher instances of adoption if folks representing and caring for the animals were more approachable, so maybe give that a shot. 😉
Nice people and knowledgeable. Great deals on neutering and spading.
These are the rudest, most unconcerned people I’ve ever met. They came onto my property, unannounced, yelling at me for coming outside with my gun. Mind you, I am a Black woman and these two white women are walking around my property, chasing my dog. They did not announce themselves until a yelled at them to leave. I was TERRIFIED because I didn’t know why they were there, in my backyard and they thought they had a right to be there. When I called in to see what was going on and request that they let people know that they have business at their homes, the lady who answered the phone also had an attitude. These people have NO respect at all.
