The staff take really great care of the animals that are there. Lola is always happy to go back there and visit.

Couldn't send a humane officer to pick up a kitten that was hit on the street. So I guess if an animal is hit by a car, you let them die in your yard, then throw them out with the trash. I'm not from Ohio and I don't know with how they run here... But leaving an animal to suffer is not humane.

I recently dropped off two male cats to the Humane Society of Allen County and was greeted at the security door by a young employee. She was very polite and respectful, and assisted me in completing the necessary paperwork needed. I was very impressed and consider this to be a very positive experience.

I volunteer here regularly and I can tell how hard the staff and volunteers work to care for these animals. They do their best to give these animals individual time and attention as well as proper clean living environments and medical care. If you're considering adopting, there are many lovely animals here in need of their own home!

Tried to adopt a cat that has been there for over two years. Filled out application and was told that I could not adopt, because they have to be inside ALL the time. I do allow my cats (all spayed) sun themselves, on the deck, in the summer. I also made sure they had my vets information, so they could reference their medical history, since they are rightfully concerned about cats with felv. Unforunately I have received nothing back and I reckon the cat will have to continue waiting on a home. It is real shame. She would have had a phenomenal home. I understand wanting to make sure they are in an adequate environment, but turning someone down because they allow their cats to sun themselves, pretty ridiculous, for wanting animals to get adopted, especially longterm residents.

The shelter has a wonderful group of volunteers who make sure animals get socialized and daily love. The staff is very caring and the shelter plays a very important role in our community. Consider donating and/or adopting one of their many wonderful animals!
