Description Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska is a no-kill shelter serving Northeast Nebraska and beyond. Along with saving local animals, we transport homeless pets to our shelter who would otherwise be euthanized without our help. ASNN is also fully invested in the people of our community! We offer various programs to aid in pet ownership and education, as well as provide assistance to pet owners who have come in to hard times. All of our adoptable cats and dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated for any medical problems they may have, microchipped, then sent home with approved adopters. ASNN is solely funded on donations from the public. We receive no government or city funding.

I was extremely pleased with the whole adoption process from start to finish. The staff were running crazy being they had 20+ dogs brought in at one time. They were very kind and compassionate to me and my million and one questions. I cant thank each and everyone of you enough for all the hard work you do for these fur babies. May God bless you all.

I walked in there after browsing kittens on their website. I fell in love with the three-legged Joshuine (who is now Steve French "Stevie"). I went home with her, and mystery cat bag, and a really nice carrying case for $30 about an hour later. She also gave me her full known medical records, a list of shots that she's due for and when, her microchip information and pet insurance for cheap. Idk if this is related but she seemed to be pre-litterbox trained, because she was going in it from the get go. Great staff, cute animals, and found my three-legged best friend!

Terrible service. Employees were rude and judgmental. Didn’t let me give a proper goodbye to my dog. Just took them and made me fill out paper work with disgust in their eyes. Employees need to understand things happen in life that are out of our control to where we have no choice but to give up our loving family member(s). But they did none of this. I wouldn’t recommend going here to adopt or surrender. They don’t treat their animals well. I volunteered here for a lil bit and two employees were very disrespectful (to put it very mild) to a couple animals. If you love (your) animals then don’t bring them here.

Some of the people there are very non understanding judgemental and criticizing people who looked at me today with scorn and made me feel like a horrible person and criminal for hoping they would with some type of compassion help me find the perfect home for 2 adorable bunnies i had and a few in the past find good homes and did genuinely what I thought was best for them and with a difficult situation within my family recently over Christmas of my grandma having an accident in her apartment and having to go to assisted living due to degrading dementia I had the difficult job of surrendering her cat which originally was adopted through them in a dire situation just wanted to put her on a waiting list no one is perfect or makes the perfectly right decisions at times in life but I am a good person and for a community funded place they should have more respect and compassion for their community members personal situations that arise and they didn't even want to understand or have any compassion for my situations past and present I would take in any animal in need of help anywhere and always have as i am a complete animal lover I've never been so insulted with them saying I could never adopt from them again and they would never help me with any animal again I will no longer recommend or donate which I did today also. I have adopted from them a few dogs baby in the past and older black lab and yuki last march a German shepherd a couple of guinea pigs who are best friends and love to whistle and they are all still with me healthy and happy and I love them dearly..I donated a basket of cat toys that were my grandma's cats toys, kitten food and a cat bed never again! I have quite a few concerns about this place well as a few others have had with their personal experiences with some of the people and their mannerisms on how they treat people.
