Description Our Brothers Keeper is a shelter that provides temporary housing for those homeless and looking for safety or a place to stay as they transition into more permanent housing. Our shelter has reopened to guests as of October 1, 2020 and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with an 8:00 pm curfew for guests. New guests may register 7 days a week between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. Our Brothers Keeper features separate sleeping facilities for women and men as well as 3 rooms dedicated for homeless families. Guests are given clean bedding and limited storage for their personal belongings. Nicest shelter I've actually been to until you meet the workers. 90% are lazier than what they expect you to be. Some even try and hook up with guests. The staff turnover rate is just as high as incoming guests. Ever since new own ownership the place has been flipped over and ran to the ground. They let meth heads take control of running people's lives when they have not been sober 6 months. Lol I'm not even sorry to say that this place is a joke.

This place is a waste of time, I hired four of their clients, they don’t want to work, they don’t want to learn, they don’t want to improve. this is a waste of our tax dollars and they want to build a $5 million facility inside the city limits. I told them I needed help for my business, and they picked out the worst group that had felony records and sent them to me because no one else in big Rapids would hire them. Words right from their “Elaine’s” mouth. This place needs to be shut down. I plan on Suing you for slander.

Homeless and haven't ate for days. Was turned away because a new policy not allow "public" meals. New ownership, which for a non profit agency sounds quite strange and silly. Thanks for the meal OBK, I'll just go another 3 days with no food.

I wish I could rate this place a 000. My mom went here for help and they are putting her out 2 weeks of her being there. She is the only person that has a job and does her chores. The women in there are lying to her my mom put out. They told my mom they won't help her... THEY ARE DISCRIMINATING AGAINST MY MOM. IF YOU'RE BLACK STAY AWAY!!!!!!! I'm definitely reporting this place to the BBB THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN

They didn’t care about anything but their funding and their paychecks when I was there four years ago. Sounds like the only thing that’s changed is a fresh coat of paint.

I would get the staff changed out, they are involved with favorites and poor treatment of some individuals. Example: I was threatened to be written up for playing thumbs of War, when two other people were grabbing and giving lap dances to each other. And donations the staff goes threw what they want and then redonates them without giving them to the homeless. They received 10 hiking backpacks, only two of them made it out to homeless. The rest went to staff. The shelter is a joke if I could take away stars I would.
