I'm sure these people love their animals. However, I tried to adopt a 20yo cat who has been at the shelter 2.5 years. They tried to talk me out of it and when I persisted they told me someone else wanted her. Really? After 2.5 years two people want the same 20yo feral cat during one of the worst pandemics and episodes of social unrest happening at the same time? Great. Keep the cat. I've had cats my whole life. I have two now. I have a big house and a great setup for my cats. I even sent them pictures. No dice. The point of the shelter is to adopt pets out and at that they have failed so one star.

A “volunteer” enticed a gentle trusting dog off its owners property, kidnapped the animal in her car and then berated the owner for allowing the dog to run loose. I am certain in her own mind she was saving the animal from being struck by a car on the busy four lane interstate that runs through this part of the island. What a hero she feels herself to be. In point of fact there is no four lane highway, the dog was on its owners property within voice range and was in no real danger. Your self aggrandizing gestapo tactics are not appreciated.

I walk dogs for VIPP and see first hand the incredible care and compassion. The organization's volunteers and directors are amazing and devote countless hours with the dogs and cats.
