I have fostered dogs in the past from PAWS and they found homes for them.. The last dog I fostered, over 5+ years ago, I ended up adopting. I took a walk through last week and the area inside shelter clean. Because of the heat,, they keep the dogs inside. The staff they have today, are very friendly and caring.
Absolutely horrible service. The worker showed us cats for half an hour stating these were available. and then told us they were not up for adoption after we chose a cat!! The only one that knew anything, about anything was the other older lady and she wasn’t friendly or open to people being there at all! I also witnessed people behind the fence yelling aggressively at one of the dogs while driving away! Absolutely awful experience. DO NOT GO TO PAWS IN PENDLETON!!!!
This is the nicest and cleanest shelter I have ever been to. I was there a couple days ago when I adopted our new kitten. Any staff we dealt with was extremely kind and considerate and you could tell they truly cared for and loved the animals there. All the animals were friendly and you could tell they were well cared for. It was also very clean!
Good people, the dogs are blessed to have this shelter. The manager is an upbeat person and her team really cares about the dogs and puppies who are being surrendered. Please adopt and don’t shop, the shelter needs more room for other pups and who are homeless. Dogs are angels on heaven🌍🌈⛅️ Let’s give back the unconditional love that they show us, everyday.🙏🏽💙 P.S. I love my puppy Darla. She helped relieve my anxiety and depression, she never fails to comfort me when I’m sad, mad, or stressed. She’s my angel!🐶🐾
I got so lucky. I got sunny or, she adopted me. These kind ladies stayed open for me. I knew that I was already committed to her before I drove the 30 miles to get her. The people at the shelter were kind, efficient, and went beyond for me and Molly (we changed her name). Thank you again. Molly and Nicole
PAWS has been very good to us. I write this in hopes of spreading awareness to fellow first time adoptees. When you adopt a dog or cat that is not yet spayed or neutered there is a holding fee you place, and when that pet is old enough you receive that amount back when you send them to the monthly spay/neuter clinic in the monthly transit to Benton City, WA; DO NOT DO THIS. Don't get me wrong, the spay/neuter clinic is a blessing for strays and population control and I am grateful such an organization exists. Our situation is rare and unfortunately, under circumstances we are still having a traumatic time grasping, our beautiful, healthy young kitten did not make it past anesthesia when he underwent just a basic operation to be neutered. We did not realize we were sending our furbabe to a location where multiple (4+) cats would be operated on at one time. This is normal business for clinics. This is certainly not PAWS' fault whatsoever. PAWS and the Prevent Homeless Pets clinic in Benton City, WA were very kind regarding the circumstances. I really just wish another option would have been laid out bluntly when we initially adopted from PAWS to begin with, that if I, the pet owner/adoptee takes said animal to a veterinary clinic of my own choosing to spay/neuter and I have proof of said operation, credit can be returned for said holding fee.. We would have gladly paid triple or even quadruple in price to have taken our kitten to a private one-on-one veterinarian where closer attention and care could have been made.. Looking into prices it really isn't much more expensive than the clinic price and it breaks my heart we were unaware at the time. Honestly, my pets are my family (often even more-so my family than my actual blood related family!) and I cannot fathom sending an actual human family member to have an operation, and imagining 4+ other humans being operated on all at the same time.. it just breaks my heart how we lost our furbabe. I know our situation is rare, but it could happen to anyone..
