Drs very good. Went for severe eye issue . Found out prescription was using likely cause increase issue in eye. When checking out had found out part of new treatment was using same med. The doctors Horikawa and Lavallee helped save my girl Angel's sight. Angel was getting old and her glaucoma appeared in her second eye. We never gave up on her. The Doctors both gave 110% to maintain her vision. They kept her vision until Angel passed 2 years after their initial surgery and treatment due to old age. I can't thank them and their staff enough for the attention and the care they gave us.

If you are in the area, or even if you are not, you MUST come to Ophthalmology for Animals. My dog, Noodle (German Sheppard, 5 yrs old) has had pannus for 2 years and it had severely obstructed his vision and wellbeing. I tried to treat it at home for those 2 years but saw little improvement. I finally decided to take him to see the amazing people at Ophthalmology for Animals despite my anxious hesitancy. As soon as I stepped into the clinic, all my anxiety vanished. Every single receptionist, vet tech, and doctor that interacted with me and Noodle was INCREDIBLE. I felt so comfortable in this space and they made sure Noodle was comfortable and were incredibly patient with my no-so patient boy. Within 2 weeks of prescribed treatment, Noodle had immense improvement. When I was able to see the true color of his eyes, I teared up. I hadn’t seen his eyes and see him hunt for lizards or small pieces of food in years!! If you see the lovely people at Ophthalmology for Animals, you will not be disappointed with the caring, unique, and individualized care here. Thank you so much !!!

This place is amazing. The doctors and staff are so incredibly kind. They really know how to handle nervous dogs and make it as calming and positive of an experience for them as possible, and I feel confident in the doctor's expertise. Even though there's an opthalmologist closer to me in the SF Bay area, this place was able to get me in sooner, which we really appreciated because my regular vet at first was concerned that my dog had cancer in his eyes. Fortunately, he has a different, non-cancerous condition that is able to easily be managed. The eye drops they prescribed cleared everything up and have maintained his eye health for the last couple of years now. But even though we're at a place now where we could transfer to an ophthalmologist that is closer, we're just so happy with this place that it's totally worth the trip for us.

Dr wanted to remove my dogs eyeballs and I found a specialist (800) in USA.. glands impacted and expressed. Needs daily medications and expressed every 2 months , even with 6 hours driving 🚗. My dog can see and no pain. Love 💘.

As scary going to an ophthalmologist may be, I’m always happy when I take my puppets here. Dr Gratzek is amazing. When we took our pupper in for an eye appointment, she mentioned that the dog might have a heart murmur and to get it checked out. Who knows how much time she added for us to have with our Boston terrier.

Dr Gratzek is nothing short of amazing. My dog made a fantastic recovery from his eye surgery and I cannot speak highly enough of her work, her manner, and her integrity. Her staff is phenomenal, as well. I just wish my own doctor was as good. Highly recommended.
