Animal control is non-existent in Riverton. They do have one officer who is worthless. If she does return calls she gives bad information. I blame Riverton City elected officials, city officials for this. They let her get away with her poor performance. They don't fund a proper animal control program. City officials need to get a clue and fund a real animal control program. I had a cat go missing. I went to city hall and was directed to the police department. The lady at the PD said animal control was not working, took the day off. I left my name and phone number and was told I would get a call back. Now 4 months later, NO CALL. I called Draper, South Jordan and Herriman animal control to see if they had the cat. I got a call back from all 3 within 1/2 hour. All three took the time to help me list the cat on their web sites. What is wrong with Riverton? What is wrong with Riverton animal control. Total waste of our tax dollars.

My experience has been eating at me for two days so I have finally decided to share this. Officer Watson is clearly either burnt out or hates the job she has CHOSEN to work. I am ashamed that someone so rude and bluntly does not care works for Riverton City. I think it’s time they create a job posting for this department.

SUPER disrespectful! Don't call thinking anyone in this office will treat you will an OUNCE of respect. Someone called on our dog last week, which I think may have been a mistake. So I called in to let them know that my dog was inside during the time the complaint was made, but that a dog that lives DIRECTLY behind me barked for over 2 1/2 hours that Thursday night. I'm not sure of the officers name but she got super flippant with me and asked if I wanted to make a complaint against the other dog. I said "no I just want it to be on record that my dogs were inside the day you said the complaint was made and maybe you should check out the houses behind me". she asked for an exact address - which I dont have as there are 6 townhomes that line my backyard that the other dog could be barking could be from. She rudely said she needed an EXACT address, to which I responded "k cool, i'll take a look behind my fence when I get home". She said "k cool, BYE" and hung up on me. I get all dogs bark, mine is NO exception, for to come and site someone with no proof and when an owner calls in since my dogs were in fact INSIDE, there's no excuse to be so rude about it.

Complete trash they don’t pick up the phone and they also got a full voicemail box so you can’t even leave a message.

It is absurd that they NEVER answer their phone. I have called over 20 times, always during business hours, and on many different days but never an answer. Nor a call back when messages are left.
