We did the VIP tour which was a great small experience for our family with kids 6 to 10 - we had 6 people in our group. Anne was fantastic and did a great job explaining things to both the kids and adults, teaching the group how to think about interacting with wild animals, and her passion and knowledge on exotic animal care was really impressive and inspiring. We couldn’t believe how close we got to the zebra, ostriches, monkeys and lemurs and also how much we learned. I highly recommend a visit here if you like animals and are looking for something unique to do on the Big Island.

This was such an incredibly fun tour for our family. We learned so much, got to meet a ton of awesome animals, and even got to feed a few! A highlight of our trip and definitely worth a visit. Make sure you reach out to them early: they only run a few tours a week and keep the tour groups small so that everyone can have good animal interactions.

A very uniquely wonderful experience. This is not a petting zoo but you do get a very personal experience with the animals. If this was a petting zoo you get to experience the animals on your terms. Here you get to experience the animals on their terms in a manner that you know is as present for them as it is for you, unlike most places we might come in contact with exotic animals. Because the primary purpose of the place is the well being of the animals they do not cater to your schedule. I recommend that you contact them in advance and be flexible. If they cannot schedule you or need to cancel it is due to the respect and care they have for the animals.

Ann gave a great demonstration on how best to approach pack animals and how different it was from the way humans interact. We were able to interact with a bison, several ostrich, many different birds, monkeys, zebra, and many more different animals. This is not a petting zoo (THIS IS AN ANIMAL SANCTURY AKA AN ANIMAL RESCUE FOR ABUSED OR UNWANTED ANIMALS), but we were able to feed the ostrich and the buffalo. It was a fantastic experience learning about the proper way to interact with animals and it was eye opening to some of the abuse animals have endured either intentionally or unintentionally due to lack of knowledge. Highly recommended.

This is a really fantastic “hidden gem”. My wife found this sanctuary while searching online. Being an animal lover it was on the top of her list of places to visit. Not only did we get to see LOTS of animals (Buffalo, donkeys , horses, monkeys, birds, rodents, tortoises, ostriches, zebra and many more) but you get to learn their stories and their behavior. I think you leave with a good appreciation for which animals make a good pet, which ones don’t, and how much work goes into a place like this. It’s totally supported by the tour donations (suggested 50 per person) and volunteering efforts. It’s very clear these animals are very well cared for and loved. You also get many up close encounters with them. It was so educational and I left with a great understanding of how these animals think. Definitely worth checking out, it’s very unique.

This animal sanctuary is one of the best animal experiences I have ever had with my family! Ann is the "animal" rescue avenger of all time. She gave us a fantastic tour through her animal sanctuary. We were totally captivated the entire 2 1/2hrs. The animals living their best lives at this sanctuary were amazing and their rescue stories so heart breaking. We left the animal sanctuary feeling inspired that this place exists as well as learned so much information about animal behaviors. We encourage everyone who visits Kailua Kona, Hawaii to visit The 3 Ring Ranch. It is a very special place, and you will leave there feeling amazing and inspired by people like Ann and her volunteers and their effort to protect animals' rights to live well and be happy.
