What an experience and sucessful procedure performed at Green Valley Animal League. Doc's has an excessive fast paced cancer. along with a cancer mass that grew within 1 month of a biopsy and Green Valley took us in for evaluation and surgery. Since Feb of 2024, Doc is a well driven, happy, and most of all- energetic 18y/o shepard.
I Love this place so much, I used to volunteer here for the cats and it was awesome very nice people and others I got an award on my last day, I will totally be coming back I miss the people and the cats there too
I took my class on a field trip to the Animal League. Kim Eisele had a wonderful presentation for my elementary students regarding the facilities and how the students themselves should take care of their pets. My class enjoyed themselves so much! Thank you, Kim, and all your group of volunteers that made our field trip A+!
Weather you are looking to expand your family with a new Dog or Cat or are looking for something from the thrift store with gently used items it's definitely worth a trip to Green Valley Animal League. I adopted a little Dog a few years ago and I don't know how I got on without this bundle of joy. Rocky has enriched our lives each and every day. He's brought us so much love and company he really is a member of our family. The staff there is very devoted to these Animals. The love and care there is second too none. And after you adopt your new bundle of joy take the time to visit the thrift store where donated items are sold for pennies on the dollar. These sales help support the funds needed to run the adoption and care for the dogs and cats including the day to day expenses. There's a set adoption fee that includes all shots and cost for that particular pet no matter how much it cost them. These expenses can be quite high depending on what that particular pets needs are. And don't forget they accept donations at any time if you are able to help offset these costs. And don't forget to donate any of your household goods and good used clean clothing. So stop by and look around, you'll never know what you might come home with!!!
DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE. PLEASE READ. My parents went in so excited to adopt this beautiful puppy and my parents are just sweethearts they treat their animals like they are their own children. My mom had her eyes set on this cute puppy. They made a phone call and were told to head over to the animal league. (there’s literally no point in going because they don’t let you bond with the animals unless you’ve already adopted it) After a few questions with my parents everything seemed to go well until they asked if my parents worked. My dad said yes but that my mom was only gone for 4 hours throughout the entire day and that my grandma would pet sit for them until my mom’s shift was over. The lady completely shut them down right away after that, said “Well if you would have told me that over the phone, I wouldn’t have made you come down here.” with lots of attitude. Told them that they couldn’t adopt the dog because they need someone home with them 24 hours a day…RIDICULOUS. we have always had pets and we know very well how to take care of them especially a husky which we had cared for before in the past. she began to get rude with them and say that they can adopt but that they can’t adopt “THIS DOG” and proceeded to ask them if they wanted to adopt a cat instead???? I’m furious especially because my parents are the sweetest. They were so confused on why this lady was treating them the way she was and I am so mad. like we as a family are so understanding and we were and would have been but to be rude for NO reason?! like what is your problem?! So there goes a puppy who needed a great home to live in that was turned away because my family works…. SHAME ON YOU. It is because of you INHUMANE lady with such hatred that these dogs here aren’t getting adopted?! well screw you…i’m very disappointed.
Jean and her massive crew of volunteers deserve the highest accolades for the quality of their facility and the care that they give the 4-legged residents. This is a No-Kill shelter that protects and cares for cats, dogs, and birds. Believe it or not, you have to get on a waiting list to reserve a spot for a pet that you want to give away. And this is after a huge expansion over the last several years that virtually doubled their capacity. The Rottweiler that I have always wanted, for at least 35 years when my two daughters were young and chose a cool little dog instead, was discovered here secretly by my wife about 6 years ago. She took me all the way down to Green Valley (a 2 hour drive from the Oracle area) one hot September day to check him out. The moment I saw him there was no question and he and I bonded deeply over the next 45 minutes, while the adoption paperwork was being reviewed and signed. They called him "Copper Dan" and we renamed him "Raji"which means "King" in Hindi. He is the most talkative dog I've ever heard and he is also the most tactile, a Rottweiler trait typically reserved for touching the herd that the dog protects in order to feel the vibes as they travel quickly through many bodies at first sign of a predator. Raji made devoted sponsors of us toward the Animal League of Green Valley. I will always be grateful that they exist and that other people can find the 4-legged friend of the dreams. The League operates a second-hand/curio/antique store immediately next door. They accept furniture and other donations which can then translate into money to help pay the operating costs of the huge facility. Thanks Jean and all the passionate volunteers. You bring a lot of love into the animals' lives as well as to their humans caretakers.
