Perhaps it was a bad day. I will begin by stating that the desk staff was extremely courteous and helpful. I explained the issue I was having with my pet, as it appeared she was having an allergic reaction to something she ate. We ended up at Cane River because there was nowhere else to go in such short notice. I spent more time filling out the paperwork and waiting in the actual patient room than going over anything with the doctor. At least 3 times, I was asked by the nurse to describe what had happened. She would then step into the hallway, where I could hear everything, and repeat all the info back to him which he did not really seem to care about. After the third exchange of information, he was supposed to come in and actually meet with us. He didn't. He continued to have his personal conversation with someone else in the hall for another 5 minutes before I overhear him say, "Okay, let me go check on this heavy breather." At that point, it was evident that my concerns were going to go unheard. My interaction with him was not that great. It seemed to be of greater interest to him that I "wasn't from here" than anything else. Multiple times he blamed her reactions on a car ride, when I stated to him various times that this wasn't her first trip and nothing of this had ever happened before. It didn't matter. I was talked over or just disregarded the entire time so I just gave up. He administered a shot for motion sickness, which was unnecessary, and sent us on our way with the bill. As a light suggestion, maybe have a conversation further down the hall instead of right in earshot of how you truly could care less what the person is there for.

We've been blessed by everyone at Cane River Veterinary Clinic. Whenever we've been concerned, they have called us at all hours to keep us informed. When we were especially concerned, they called us overnight! The entire staff loves all animals, big and small, but most importantly, they know that their patients are the world to their human owners!

I am very pleased with the care provided by Dr. Pesnell and his staff. They were very professional, on time, caring, and effective at taking care of Boudreaux, my mother’s DachsHund. She was unable to use her back legs. Dr. Pesnell diagnosed her problem immediately. She was walking again within 3 days. I could not ask for better or more caring treatment. Thank you so much for taking care of Boudreaux and us.

He is the most caring vet you will ever meet. I’ve been going to him for years and could not imagine going anywhere anywhere else. Doc is straightforward and he pulls no punches.
