Was there to work on lights. Staff is friendly and looked to be taking good care of the animals there. The place is clean but stinks at times due to what it is. There are cages outside as you go in for people to abandon their pets after hours. Sorry, no nice way to put it. Better that than just putting them out on the road. Spay / neuter and all shots, along with ID chipping, are included with pet adoption fees. December 23, 2023: I adopted a kitten they named Walden from LCAS. Renamed him Oscar. I work for Loudon County Maintenance and was there replacing a sink in the Cat Room the previous day. I found me a buddy while my coworker went to get some parts. My wife and I got him the next day. My mother lives with us, and we have another cat we adopted from a coworker about 2 months ago. They keep mom company, and she loves them too.

Spoke to a staff member in there. She was very rude and she was already talking about putting the kittens to sleep when the kittens can eat on their own, they are not completely babies, but they are kittens that can eat by themselves and she was very rude and I had her on speakerphone, where I was able to have people as witness because they heard the entire conversation and was surprised by the way she spoke to me. All I want is for these kittens to have a happy home and I thought the shelter was a place where animals can be safe and be adopted.

I found my Hooman… she came to visit me every day for a week to make sure we like each other. She real good mom … she take me to park, doggy daycare, make my food, gets my jerky treats and buyed me toys! I live playing at park wif all my new friends. I so glad I smiled for her… she really happy because she know I have training and am housebroken. It one month and I adjusted fast.

My male dog, Stewie, went totally rogue on me early Saturday am (1 am?)...I searched the neighbor's searched for 2 days!! No, Stewie. The first thing I did Saturday morning was call the animal shelter to discover they're closed on weekends. I'd have to wait. Sick with worry by Monday am, I called to just make sure....THEY HAD HIM!! Some kind stranger saw him on the main road, no collar (because he escaped by forcing it over his head) and they gave him a ride to shelter and put him in night drop off to keep him safe. The ladies behind counter both on the phone and in person were EXCEPTIONAL! Sent me a picture before I came to see if it was really him... I arrived within minutes to bring my KING back to our pack and in person those same ladies showed great professionalism, kindness towards me and my main guy and thoughtfulness towards future "issues"...thank you for helping my sweet Stew, feeding, walking and shelter....I'll never be able to thank everyone enough. 😊

I get it's a shelter but my only issue is that it smells too much of urine and I think it should smell cleaner. Also wish they would get a vet on staff so if someone has to bring an animal their animal doesn't have to be put down for a simple eye infection. I myself have mixed feelings about animal shelters in general.

Got Hawkeye from the shelter, he was not very trusting of people when I first got him but he has adjusted so well! He’s the best dog and he’s finally in his forever home!❤️
