Frankly, a bit disappointed.. Went in there with my son with the intentions of adopting a cat. This was not our 1st visit.. We have the pass to go into the rooms and interact with the cats. We were told that ALL cats in those rooms are available for adoption. My son found a cat that he bonded with for about an hour, sitting there playing with it, both having some nice interaction. He was set on this being our new family member. I go outside the room and ask one of the workers about that particular cat, and how we now go about the adoption process.. That worker, or volunteer, was more eager to let other workers or volunteers know that there was interest in that particular cat. I waited about 20 minutes in the room for the person to return with info on adoption while my son continued to play with that cat. The person returned, only with another volunteer, who then said that the cat of interest was not available and that she was going to be taking that cat for herself... I was more angry while my son was disappointed, discouraged, and upset... DO NOT say that ALL THE CATS IN THE ROOMS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION if that is not the case at all. No wonder the SPCA has issues getting animals permanent homes. There is no doubt in my mind that this was not the 1st time something like that has happened, and I am willing to make a bet the volunteer has an apartment somewhere with a dozen or so SPCA cats.
