I can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience with Diakon. From the beginning of our journey of seeking fostering to adopt, the Diakon team has worked cohesively to make the process go as smoothly as possible. We have gained so much knowledge and perspective change from going through the process. Diakon is supportive, informative, responsive and a true partner. Never forceful or judgmental, but rather filled with patience, understanding, acceptance and compassion. The team clearly has a passion for what they do and strives for excellence and best practices. We have complete confidence in the confidentiality of our personal information. There is much to navigate in the process which can easily feel overwhelming, but Diakon is thorough and explains the process, lending support along the way. We are forever grateful for their partnership and absolutely recommend Diakon!

I have been a foster and adoptive parent with Diakon for 5 years. The level of care and service they provide to families is outstanding. Their training is comprehensive. We have had a great experience with everyone at the agency- from the staff who manage the certification process, to the case managers, to their child prep team. Compared to other friends that have walked this path with other agencies, I can say that we were luck to have chosen an agency that is so transparent. Theyre also in depth with their training, giving you the building blocks to be a successful foster parent. This is something that my friends didnt experience through their selected agencies. We are very happy with what we have seen so far. Also, Heidi at the york office is Awesome- her advice and personal experience is so extremely helpful and shes completely understanding when it comes to our needs as a resource family.

Giving Three stars because your agency is not familiar to me. I just know first hand that the children Youth and Families case worker just recently hired is a prime example of an employee that lies and gives false information just to escape doing more work to discover the correct information and help a child rather than leave it in possible danger.

Client beware. Agency acts friendly until paperwork is complete and then ignores customer. I used them because of good reviews. Look else where if you want help. I recently met an couple to adopted with them years ago and they stated that they had trouble. Nothing has changed.
