Went here today as a new client as we just moved into town a few weeks and have no vet as yet. Asked if someone could take a quick peek at my dogs paw as a precaution for a minor issue before I put him in 2 weeks boarding as a precaution to ensure no issues while away. Without hesitation they said no. Just like human doctors, vets have turned into businesses and forgotten about the oath and commitment they make to help and heal. Additional notes. Not a single person in waiting room. I appreciate that I didn’t have an appointment but it’s not always possible to know when there is an acute problem. Imagine if they replied “sure let me take a Quick Look, we understand”. Happy customer and new client for life and a hugely positive review. We have vets in the family and based on a photo review they said this would have been a 5 min exam with maybe some ointment as protection.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. I am giving a two, almost a 1 star, as we left our dog in there care so a certain type of urinalysis could occur. We were preached too about how not taking it a certain way would give false results. We left during a shift change and told it should be about 1 to 1.5 hours max. 4 hour later we were able to pickup our furry friend. New vet, or staff member, told us they just used the urine from the floor and did not do the procedure paid for. We were basically told sorry, you got what you paid for. That’s not what other staff told us as all and described in detail what they would do right before we paid. They get two stars as they did later credit us some of the charge. Very little of it, but they attempted to make it right. They also did seem very knowledgeable.

Dr.B is absolutely fantastic. He genuinely cares about each patient. We've been going here for close to 10 yrs. His staff is loving, knowledgeable, and compassionate. My Penny girl just loves him and everyone at San Juan. Suzie is Penny's favorite tech.

I want to start this as I was referred here in 2022 for my senior pug. I thought I found a great vet and a home to my 2 pugs. That all changed after the staff was turned over. Since July 2023 my pug started declining with what I thought was heart issue. We think it was seizures but meds never worked. The last part of his life was supported by the staff and the lack of compassion, concern and empathy with our babies. I tried to get some basic questions answered but they wanted me to book a visit to answer them. Dr B went on vacation for Thanksgiving and my baby started declining more and more. They staff forwarded the call to the office manager which was condensing and not nice at all. No compassion on my struggle with my ailing pug. I tried calling them and I realized they would never pick up my calls, they were screening my calls and not answering. This was very concerning as NO doctor should ever do this. This was a difficult time for me and decisions needed to be made with my baby and knowing they were screening the calls was beyond me. The day my baby passed at home I tried calling again and screening. I left a message and they called back in 1 minute. This is not acceptable. During the transition of my baby there was still no empathy or comfort with the staff. Never even offered a box of Kleenex. This practice needs direction on how to treat humans and fur babies. We need supportive care and need them to provide the best care for our babies. Never will come back here again and would emphasize to everyone, look for a new home for the care of your fur babies, they deserve the best. Not cold hearted staff that only wants your money.
