This woman genuinely cares for the world and for animals. I pray that god blesses her beyond measure for what she has done. Which is taken care of animals in need for the last forty three years. God bless you.

When local vets failed me with health info on my ferrets, Mason was always there to lend an ear and advice based on years of experience. I have learned more about ferrets from her than any vet, and my ferrets and I are forever grateful for her help.

I've been holding onto this whole traumatic experience for over a decade (2011). I wish I had made a review when this happened, but I was just not ready to relive everything until now. when i told her i wanted to go visit her "rescue" to get my ferret of 4 years a friend to play with, she told me to bring him when I visited the shelter to make sure he got along with whichever ferret I chose as his playmate. I wasn't sick and he wasn't around anyone who had been. 2 weeks later he was dead. he had diahreah and a fever most of that time, as well as being very lethargic. the vet I had been taking him to in the weeks before his death told me he had green slime diahreah, which can be fatal due to dehydration and is very contagious. before i found an exotic vet in my area, I had called the vet she recommended. it was 1am and I was freaking out. He was more important to me than anything else in my life, so to me it was an emergency. she told me to call her vet if anything happened so I did. when I told her in an email what was happening, the shelter owner chastised me for calling the vet so late at night and said that I probably got him sick because ferrets can catch human colds. again, I didn't have a cold at any point before going to that place and the time he died. she even claimed to know more about ferrets than the vet I took him to, but ignored me after he had passed when I pleaded for her to find a way to make her set up more sanitary. you can say "ok lady, but that was 12 years ago. maybe things have changed". I've spoken to other people in the last year who rescue ferrets and 2 different exotic vets here in indy who know about her "rescue". they all don't have anything nice to say, and are of the opinion that she is delusional thinking she should still be running that place. I ended up adopting 2 ferrets when I went there that day. One of them was older, and the other had a problem biting people. The older one died about 4 months later from a tumor growing in his abdomen. The biter would bite me whenever I gave him the opportunity, which was annoying. He had been returned to the shelter 3 times previously, and she said I could have taken him back there, but I refused to surrender anything back to that place. not after the way she treated me when I lost my baby. she was more concerned with how many ferrets she had "rescued" than how clean her facility was. I kept him until he passed away about 5 years later. he was affectionate towards me in his own way. he was never hungry, always safe, healthy, and loved by me despite being so bitey. if you have to surrender your ferret, don't take them here. There is a rescue in Indy run by volunteers that is wonderful. It is called Five Point Ferret Refuge. the owner there is amazing. it's run from inside her (unexpectedly huge) house and is cleaned daily by the people who volunteer there. if you want a ferret, a rescue is a great place to go. most of them are much more well behaved than the ones you will find in a pet store. Just be cautious where you go, and don't go here if you already have ferrets at home, because she will have zero empathy for you if they get sick. sorry not sorry.

We were in the process of looking for places to get ferrets! We wanted to adopt more than we wanted to get from a pet store. We came in contact with their website and contacted them. They were quick to call back and gave us all that we needed to know and more! We adopted little Sakara and Luna and we could not be happier with our decision! She gave us everything that we needed and was overall very nice and polite. This place has a special heart for ferrets and was overall a great experience. Would definitely recommend!
