Description Acadiana Animal Aid adopts out cats and dogs. The first step in adopting a new pet is to fill out an application on our website. From there, a coordinator will contact you to set up a meet and greet. We try to accommodate walk-in adoption appointments, however, this is based on the number of staff on site and their availability. To ensure the fastest service, fill out an application so an appointment can be scheduled. Thank you!

I have recently did a trial run on teeter totter and I was told once the trial was over we can adopt her and now that the trial is over we apparently can’t adopt her now and have to bring her back or cops will be involved. This is the most rudest and unprofessional shelter ever!!! this dog is absolutely apart of our family!! She has a major back yard to run in and they going to take her and make her miserable in a shelter. this makes me sick and I will NEVER step foot in this building ever again!!

Elizabeth Chauvin i had the same experience you had! There are at least five haters working there and it starts with the chief as i call her! And i had my home and property plus any money when i die willed to them! Plus worked in the hottest part of the year for free and i never been treated so badly for no reason at all! So i thought i would let you know you are not the only one with a bad experience with these haters! I have not been in a mental home in 63 years so why would i go through all of that trouble of paying a lawyer to write a will! I had nothing but good intentions and wanted to give Miss Bea a great home! This has been a year already this took place! Old saying what goes around comes around to these hateful women! We adopted our little Rosie from this wonderful shelter. They were so kind and caring throughout the whole process and they truly care for these animals. They often ask for updates and pictures of our girl to see how she is doing. Price to adopt/ spay was around $200 which is great! If we want another pup we are definitely adopting with AAA again!

So these guys are not the worst shelter, but they certainly aren't the best. The process was a little chaotic to adopt our puppy. The lady we originally talked to was super nice and informed us they would have Boston Terrier puppies that needed to be adopted. We quickly told her we wanted one, even if they were mixed, we would like to have one. Well, fast forward to today and it's clear we did not get a boston terrier anything. The dog is an American Pit Bull Terrier. I am not 100% sure if they knew, and they baited and switched. We love our dog and we are glad to have her, she's a great puppy. Luckily I have owned a pit bull before, but for new dog owners that would've been a major headache. Not only are these dogs banned from some apartments but they can be very temperamental with newbie owners. Point being do I dislike this place? No. Do I think they sort of knew what they had, yes. They need to take care with animals that could be considered aggressive breeds before handing them over to people who may or may not have experience with these dogs. We still love her and she's been a great dog, it just would've been nice to know what she truly was before getting her.
