A great place to take kids. They can be loud, pet animals, and learn fun facts. We even got to scratch a pig with a back scratcher. That was a big hit. Most of the volunteer staff were friendly and accommodating. If you go, make sure you check yourself and whoever you're with for ticks. We found different several kinds and different sizes.

Awesome sanctuary that truly takes care of their animals. I did a tour for an hour at 1pm on Saturday and it was $15. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very kind! They are expanding too.

Absolutely wonderful organization and staff! It is great to see the animals and hear their stories and the work the sanctuary does. Highly recommend coming for a Saturday afternoon public tour or one of their educational camps!

Oh my goodness. I had been wanting to go to Heartland for YEARS, and I was finally able to have a Saturday off, so we went to today’s public tour. Our tour guide, Callie, was so kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming. She had great information on the animals and the history of the sanctuary. From start to finish, I had such a wonderful time. The animals were precious, the land that they have is beautiful, and I love the work that they do. You can really feel the love there, and it’s so special to see. I’m so glad I was able to go to Heartland today, and will definitely be back in the near future, especially to see Sunflower and Opal the goats, and Francis the sheep!

A lovely place with an even lovelier mission! Very happy to have this organization in our community. There are many ways to get involved, from Sunday work crews to weeknight drop-in help.

Incredible place, lovely people, and such an important mission. They're hands down one of my favorite places to show people who haven't been, as well as a great place to volunteer.
