Description "Each VCA hospital has health and safety protocols in place based on health care best practices as well as state and local guidance and regulations."
Dr Groper is the best. We met him initially when my dog had strange symptoms no one could explain- he was the only one who thought outside the box and finally helped my dog feel better after seeing multiple vets. He has continued help us throughout the years (6 years now) with multiple issues, surgeries etc — no one I would trust more with my girl. Even my dog who doesn’t enjoy going to the vet, somehow knows she can trust him. Highly recommend Dr Groper.
Dr. Groper has been taking care of our dog for the last eight years and treats him like his own. He now takes care of our second dog and we would never go anywhere else. The love attention and care he gives to the animals and their humans is unmatched thank you Dr. G and the whole staff at VCA for all you do.
I am so pleased with my vet office all around front to back because they are very confident with my sweet German Shephard and don't treat him like a threat which many offices do. They have a very friendly helpful front desk which is as equally important to me as my Vet Dr. Their techs are confident with my dog as well. They are very seasoned doctors with decades of experience who have seen it all and recognize the gamut of ailments and they have great preventative recommendations but don't force treatments on you!!! I am relieved to finally have a dependable vet practice after 37 years!!!
I had an appointment to get a travel certificate. In the beginning, the tech was very friendly, carried my dog to be weighed in a separate room since the scale in the room was broken. She let me know it would be a while until the vet would come. After 40 minutes, the vet came and since we had been sitting in the room for a long time alone, my dog let out a small growl. The first thing the vet said was whether he needed to muzzle my dog, which I said no since my dog has not had any history of biting or fighting a vet. He asked if I was sure, which I said yes, and instead I would need to hold my dog's head tightly. My dog was very scared since he's submissive and I held his head strong enough that he couldn't turn. The vet kept asking if I was holding him tightly through the assessment as my dog is submissive peeing on me. I don't think I'd like to go back in case I get that vet again, but everyone else was very nice.
They have great doctors and very thorough. But their business model is almost like sketchy online subscription. They tell you to make a deposit of $100 to schedule biopsy saying in case of the biopsy cancellation the deposit will be refunded. Yes you guessed it! They make it very difficult to cancel procedure even it's not necessary anymore, and refund is super difficult to get. They never responded to my email about refund inquiry, I had to call them 4 times!! Every time, they gave me multiple excuses they can't refund right away. Like manager needs to do it and she's in a meeting now, we have to get approval from the doctor, the procedure is very important for your pet and etc. 1st, my puppy's lesion is gone and no need for biopsy, 2nd, they cannot force me to go for any procedures for MY puppy. It's like a parental consent!! I wonder who's making such business policies... Shame
For a long time I held back from writing a review, but after seeing Dr. Groper still works at VCA I wanted to share experience. Eight years ago, as a teenager, I brought my 13 year old cat with thyroid issues to the vet. I had been away at college and my mom tried her best to care for him, but was unable to keep up. I knew my cat was unwell, and was hoping to find help for him at VCA. Dr. Groper was horribly rude, mean, insensitive and cold. He basically told me that it was my fault my cat was suffering, and it was my fault that he had to put down. I was a TEENAGER and at the vet alone!!! I was trying my very best to SEEK HELP, and while clearly in distress I was shamed and guilted for my cat's well being that was largely out of my control. I had to put my very much loved pet to sleep that night, which is immensely painful within itself, and while being treated horrendously by the vet. Dr. Groper's behavior was deeply traumatizing. It is unfortunate that he still has his license and his job, especially considering the awful experiences I see so many others have had. There are so many barriers to accessing good care, such as exorbitant costs and horrible staff. If you want to teach somebody how to better care for animals that they so clearly love, actually teach them! Don't be a POS and blame people for things out of their control!! Nobody learns well from shame.
