Description We are by appointment only, please call us! Wilderness Way Wildlife 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization rehabilitates & cares for orphaned, ill, injured, and displaced wildlife until they can thrive in their native habitat. Species accepted include rodents (mice, chipmunks, squirrels, woodchucks, etc.), opossums, porcupines, rabbits, weasels, fox, skunk, and raccoons. We work closely with our Vet to provide optimum medical and rehabilitative care to our wild patients. In addition, we strive to inspire each community member to cultivate respect for the natural world through environmental and resource conservation education. As a nonprofit organization that doesn't receive any government funding for our work, we heavily rely on donations.
I came across an injured baby woodchuck in my yard. I wanted to help, but I had no idea what to do. I began making phone calls to local wildlife, rescue organizations. Some would not accept this patient due to the fact that it could be a rabies carrier. I was finally referred to Wilderness Way. Libby returned by call immediately and told me to bring the animal in for treatment, which I did. This story does not have a happy ending as the woodchuck did not survive, but I was so impressed with this organization and so happy that they exist.
I'm a arborist and they gave me good advice about helping save flying squirrels!
Amazing place, so glad that they are here doing this work to help animals. I will definitely be making donations towards their work again in the future.
