Livermore Family Pet Hospital is an incredible place to take your pets. The staff is amazingly caring and gentle with both animals and pet parents/owners/handlers. And their consistent staffing means that long term respect and trust can be built between communication and pharmacy staff and clients as well as between clients and the wonderful and talented veterinarians. The hospital also tries to take people’s budgets and finances into account. They will try to parce out and discuss the divisions between needed tests, vaccines and treatment and recommended tests vaccines and shots. And to give clients the medical information and pricing on all procedures in each category and why they are in the category they are. They then respect and trust the decisions made This goes a step further when one is a service dog parent/handler. The veterinarians and staff at the hospital go out of their way to discuss what tasks an animal performs and makes sure to always check muscles, visual acuity and any other qualities needed for the animal to do their job, on top of all maneuvers done during a typical exam. They further take into account the animal’s job when prescribing medication and treatment and they try to see service animals as soon as possible in urgent moments so as to make sure the animal is both comfortable and able to do their job again as quickly as is safe. They also go above and beyond to respect the service animal’s intelligence and personality as well as the animal’s unique bond with the human client. This goes for interacting with both the service animal and the client whether separately or jointly. The hospital also respects, follows and sends all requirements and paperwork needed to support, honor and complete all rules and requests from the organizations from which service animals may come. I myself am a service dog parent/handler and have been partnered with my service dog for 8 years . Once I found Livermore Family Pet Hospital about six months into my partnership with my dog, I have never wanted to take her anywhere else for regular veterinary care and as she has aged, (she is still working), I have only become more grateful for the hospital’s attention to detail, care for , and trust in me, my dog and the service organization which matched my dog and I. I have no doubt they will help me take care of my service dog for the entirety of her life and I know I will be taking all future service dogs to them as well. They also have an exam room built especially to accommodate wheelchairs easily, but which can also be used by non disabled clients, which is rare even in human medicine, let alone veterinary care. An absolutely amazing way to show in a concrete sense that everyone and every animal is valued by the entire staff. I have interacted most closely with veterinarian/owner Dr. Heather Moore who is truly skilled, kind, inclusive and compassionate beyond measure. And with Renee in the front office, who is so friendly, on the ball and dedicated to getting things done well and quickly. I know from small additional interactions that the rest of the vets and staff are of the same ethos and quality as well. Why do I share all this? Because as a person with a disability, I know the rarity and value of a space that respects, knowledge, care, people and animals at this high a level and that wants to serve the whole community. So whether you are a pet parent/owner and/ or a service dog parent/handler, there is no place better to get healthcare for your beloved furry counterparts than Livermore Family Pet Hospital.
Friendly, compassionate caring service from the doctors and staff. It definitely is a family environment for furbabies and their humans. I have been taking my pets here since the early ‘70’s when Doc Shirley had the practice. Dr. Moore has done a wonderful job remodeling and updating this practice. We appreciate all the great care!
I have been bringing my pets here for 25 years and wouldn't think of taking them anywhere else. Everyone there is amazing and take such great care of my beautiful babies. Kody, Lexi and Vinny love their doctor Dr. Lisa Zinn.💜
Thank You for your Great Kindness, after our loss of Dog
I have trusted them with the care of my dogs for the past 9+ years. The doctors and staff provide excellent care, and everyone is very friendly. As of June 2022, they still require you to call once you pull up outside for your appointment.
Highly Recommend!! We have been clients for over 26 years and always found the care of our pets to be stellar. The veterinarians and staff are well trained, compassionate, friendly. The surgical services as well as preventive care have always had great outcomes. They are available for questions, and have a wonderful pharmacy department staff. Thanks Dr Moore & everyone for great care for the many animals we've brought to you!!
