After a week I asked about my application for two adoptions of Jasmine and Sandy. Who are foster in Indiana. I was told by Lori to email there contact person on their bio and found that there bios are not there. What is going on. I was hoping to be there forever home. Can you explain? My mother has had 9 dachshunds in my lifetime and was denied because they said she didn't have enough experience with the breed. Literally HOW?!?! We've owned dachshunds for 22 years. How is 22 years not enough time? They're the only breed we've ever owned. Not to mention, we donated LOADS of doggie diapers and never even received a confirmation they received them, appreciated them, or anything. Complete silence when applying and even when donating. Disgusting process and do not recommend. Seems like a front and not a real rescue.

I have followed the rescue on Facebook for a long time, and when I was ready I put in my application. It took a while and I did send messages asking about a handful of dogs before we were contacted. We had a phone interview, a FaceTime call, and then we met our guy in person at his foster home. His foster home was very nice and I could tell he was well cared for. You have to be patient but if you put in your application and persist, hopefully it can work out for you too! Thanks MWDR!

My partner called to get an application on file because we are looking to adopt a dog this summer. We had a few dogs in mind we wanted to meet from this rescue. The person they talked to on the phone was extremely rude and disrespectful for no reason. Such a shame that the way we were treated led us to not pursue adoption at this rescue. Quite a disservice to these animals that need a home.

We adopted this guy in October of 2020. We'd just lost our dog of 15 years who was extremely attached to my husband. Benson had just lost the dad he was extremely attached to. As the foster dad stated, "This one is a slam dunk!". They took great care in matching Benson up with us - he needed special attention, a sibling dog and a lot of love. I realized after reading many of the unhappy reviews, that people are upset when they're rejected, or don't hear back. I attribute this to the extreme amount of scrutiny MWDR places on examining the rescues and the candidates. And yes - I'm happy because I was selected. But also - we were right for one another. Since adopting I've participated in transferring rescues from Highland, IN to foster homes, or hand-off transports. This requires a lot of coordination. MWDR checks all the boxes. They're worthy of your time, your money and your understanding if t doesn't work out for you.

One of the two I dealt with, one talks your ear off, can't get a word in edgewise. Whatever you do to prepare to adopt is not good enough for them. Previous experience with dachshunds didn't matter. I will not be contacting them again for a doxie rescue. Do Not recommend. I spent $$$, time and effort to accomodate them and it was not enough. so good luck. I would not have given even one star. but you have to as a minimum.
