They are a very nice group of people. I adopted my cat from them 12 years ago. Yesterday, I was making calls because she was having some problems. I was trying to find a place that could help me. I had thought it over and decided to have her put to sleep. Stacy was 18 years 4 months and 7 days old, as of yesterday. 3/31/23, she is free and out of pain. Maybe I might foster cats. Just do not know when. The people at the shelter treated me and Stacy like we were family. They were so nice. I miss her so much. Everyone, love your pets like they were your children. They are great to have. ❤️ over a year later: I adopted 2 cats 2 weeks after I put Stacy to sleep. They are full sister and brother. I adopted mae mae first and then 2 weeks later George. They are so much fun. They came from Oklahoma. The shelter does this. They get cats from other states and places and bring them here to Maine. I love my two. They are a pain, but a lovely pain. Thanks, midcoast, for my 2 fur babies.

I have not been there yet. Google doesn't want to accept that fact, and keeps prompting me to review my experience. My experience: I spend a ridiculously unreasonable amount of time on their website, looking at cats and dogs to adopt, knowing full well I can't have one. I'm allergic to cats. Do you think that's going to stop me from stalking their profiles on Midcoast Humane? Absolutely not. My hopefully impending experience: I would love to go there and spend a bunch of time petting the animals and begging to help feed and walk them. With the promise of the adoption of at least one animal, I will hang around until closing, at which point you will have to rassle me (and my new companion) out of there, lest I become one of your precious boarders. Are you happy, Google? I mean, I'll update this when I go, but jeez. Give a girl a break while she scrolls a website for 70 million hours.

I adopted a kitten from midcoast humane and I have been incredibly impressed with their organization! They were were very friendly during our adoption process, and answered many questions from us after we brought our kitten home. The staff are welcoming and informative, and you can tell that they all really care about the animals. The shelter is very clean, and all of the animals have access to lots of toys.

Wonderful people who take time to answer any questions and they provide wonderful care for shelter animals before they are adopted! I can tell my little guy was well taken care of there prior to being adopted. Highly recommend them!
