Description Rosenberg Animal Control & Shelter (RACS) is a small Texas shelter with a big vision for its community. RACS offers both field- and shelter-based programs that service over 1,400 pets in the City of Rosenberg annually. Each animal entering the door is seen as an individual worth getting to know – and worth every staff and volunteer effort until they are matched with the right home. In 2018, RACS committed to becoming a No Kill shelter. In January 2020, RACS achieved a No Kill milestone after its Live Release Rate averaged at 94% over 12 consecutive months. RACS continues to do everything it can, medically and behaviorally, to save more lives above the 90% benchmark.

This place is unbelievable! My daughter found 2 kittens at a store after work and they were in bad shape, so she took them to this place thinking she was doing the right thing. She left abruptly because she heard them tell someone else they wouldn’t take the stray dog that they had, and she knew she couldn’t help the kittens. Long story short, she ended up being threatened, saying she’s abandoned the kittens(which she found and tried to get them help) and she could be charged…. It’s mind boggling that someone trying to help defenseless animals could be threatened with something so serious. Do better Rosenberg animal control and shelter, this is one of the reasons people are scared to help strays….UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

We adopted our kitten this week and everything was wonderful. Mindy was amazing at communicating and making the process very easy. Our dog was also adopted 2 years ago and with her having a skin issue they were very transparent in the possible risks of taking her. Both of our experiences were great!!

We adopted a kitten from here about 2 weeks ago. We were told he was “around” 8 weeks old. We brought him home and everyone agreed he looked smaller than an average 8 week old kitten. I bought him the same food they were feeding him at the shelter and he would eat little bits but throughout the 1st week. He would cry and cry and cry and I was told it was normal for a kitten to cry so I didn’t worry about it. By the beginning of the 2nd week he wasn’t eating at all, but was trying to drink the milk from my baby’s bottle so I called to make sure he wasnt still supposed to be drinking milk because I would have bought him kitten formula but was told he had been eating fry food prior to me adopting him. So I called another shelter to get advice they told me to incorporate wet food so we did. He was eating more so we thought everything was great. We were actually supposed to be taking him back for his shots here in a few days. Well today we woke up and unfortunately our kitten had passed away over night. We called an emergency vet clinic to see if there was anyways we could take him in just to see if they could find a reason as to why. As soon as he was taken in they confirmed he was pretty much starved to death and shouldn’t have been eating any sort of dry food. Even after I was told that he was perfectly fine eating the fry food he just needed time to “warm up” to the new place. So I will never I’m my life come or recommend this place ever.

Rescued a stray dog a few days, chip information mentioned it was adopted here. Upon arriving with this boy everyone was really helpful and supervisor was able to contact and have the owner to pick up their baby. Great genuine service there, I am sending a donation for sure.
