I’m updating my review and unfortunately it isn’t positive. They initially were very nice and friendly when we submitted a wild bat from our house for testing. However it’s been a WEEK AND A HALF since we sent it for testing and we were supposed to have results 3 business days ago at the latest. However nobody has contacted us, I’ve tried calling and leaving messages and nobody ever picks up or returns my calls. What is going on here???? We have no idea if we were exposed to a deadly virus and nobody can pick up the phone or call us to let us know. We’re still trying to quarantine our pets and hoping we weren’t exposed ourselves - at this point my husband may have to take time off work from his new job just to go get someone to update us on this and give us closure about our case.

I went in to adopt a dog and found the one I wanted. They told me that the place was experiencing kennel cough and the dogs couldn't be adopted until all lab reports were back and cleared. They took my name and number and said they would call me as soon as they could. About a week and a half later still no one called I got ahold of them and they said they already adopted him out. What kind of place is this!! I just hope he (chicken) has found aforever

AWFUL!!!! RETURNED DUMPED DOG TO OWNER. [This was maybe a year ago now, but i think about her often especially when I pass by the area she was at. I will just post the email I sent to them for others to see. Got no response to my email, of course.] I am writing to you about a dog that you returned to the owner. I want to see if you can check in on her or the next time she possibly gets in your shelter to not allow her to go back to her owners. HER NAME IS LOTTIE. She was taken in for a 7 day stray hold and the woman who had taken her in was informed that the dog had been in there before and you had her info on file and contacted the owners to come get her even though they were NOT looking for her. I just know this dog was most likely dumped. I witnessed her for days pacing up and down the road in the same spot. She was not hunting, she did not ever find her way back home just pacing up and down the same area of the road as if she were looking for her owner's car. I have no idea why she would be immediately returned without question especially since she had been in with you guys before. A week after that the woman had said there was another post that looked like her lost in another area, probably dumped AGAIN. This is so heartbreaking to me that you would keep returning this dog to an owner who was not even looking for her (never called you asking if she showed up there, etc), to owners who are likely dumping and abandoning her over and over again. If you still have their contact info, please check in on her. Please do not let this happen to her again. I work in the area where I saw her and I just keep thinking about her any time I am out there. I will attach a picture I took. It is a little blurry, but PLEASE do not put her through this again- I am so sad that as Animal Control you should be looking out for these animals and instead you put her back into the hands of people who clearly do not want or care for her. I wish I knew she was okay. You have her info on file so you should be able to find her, and check in on her. I hope you can do the right thing for her if you are able to find her at their home, and remove her from their care or if she ends up back with you again do not give her back to them!!!!

Today I dropped off many donations to the shelter. Although I do it for the animals your volunteers/employees should be more helpful..When I went in I saw many donations on the floor so I asked where would you like donations. They stated just pile it wherever you find a spot. (at least 5 people there; not one stated would you like some help). Then after several trips from my car to the office...NOT 1 said a thank you! I find this very disrespectful as not only did I donate from my home but went out and spent over $100. to help out. Like I said I do it for the many animals in need.

OMG! This place is absolutely AMAZING and the staff may be overworked and tired from trying to find help (we all understand because it is like that at most places) But they are honestly so kind, compassionate and angels. I took in a clients adult male cat because my client became homeless with only a 48hr notice and they couldn't keep the cat in the hotel room I got for them for a few nights and then they were going to a camper. So, I took their cat here and they held him for 2 weeks, no charge. I shoed up on day 14, it was a mad house and every single team member spoke to me with kindness and genuine interest. They even told me they would fix him in 2 weeks with only a donation given. I have been a pet lover since I was a child and have been to shelters all over the Midwest and this team was thee greatest team I have ever encountered! Thank you for all you do and thank you for watching Red, the cat, for 2 weeks. All of you are doing this world so much good work!

They were polite showing me how to check for a chip, but I didnt like the reactive dog being directly behind the reception desk where it can unsettle other animals already under duress. He's a sweetheart but I think he should be further away from the entrance
