We didn't find our forever pet, but the staff was amazing. Very clear about policies. I felt very confident that if we did find a pet that the process would have been perfect. I was amazed at how clean and organized and how smoothly they handled all the animals and the people. It was busy and nobody just stood around, but made us feel welcome. All the animals we saw and visited with were amazing. Shelters can't be easy for anyone especially the sweet animals, but the staff really seemed to care. I was skeptical by the reviews, but was very happy we went. It was nothing like what I read.

Literally had them adopt out the cat I was playing with and interested in and as I was trying to make sure I had the funds or could get them ( again, while playing with the cat I was trying to take home) I was almost done figuring out my finances so I could pay for her and go home and they adopted her out against policy "because it was in her folder that this couple was getting her a certain day" I was told previously that holding animals wasn't allowed. Even had a cat I played with every day for weeks until I could afford it, it was in her file what day I was coming for her too but they let someone adopt her while I was playing in a volleyball tournament a few days before. To be honest it felt like it had been done out of spite because I recently reported the management for allowing and defending and gaslighting me over an employee's abusive behavior towards me while I was trying to help before another employee caused an issue with someone trying to do the right thing because no one was there to help her even though she went and looked several times for someone.

My sister and I took a visit here to see the dogs up for adoption. We went up to the front desk, asking if we could see the dogs. She replied with no smile on her face whatsoever but at least made eye contact with us and stopped what she was doing to answer our question. She was ok. All that she needed was a smile on her face. When we went in the back to see the dogs, it reeked more than it should back there. Most dogs were very vocal and looked like they havent been interacted with for a long time. They looked desperate for someone to just play, snuggle, and love them unconditionally. Most of the bad comments I have read I could agree upon. I have studied both dog and cat behavior, how they think, when their sick/ill... the whole 9 yards for about 2 years now. I can tell just by looking at them that the descriptions were so not accurate at all. It's very sad. This makes me think. If the employees treat customers the way they do, how do they treat innocent animals?

They would not let me adopt a dog I bonded with. He was available for adoption. But I was not allowed to adopt him even though I had the fee. They refuse to give a reason why others. Then I wrote pomsky on a page they gave me . I feel judged a d persecuted . I am going to contact the director of the Central Nebraska humane societies board of trustees end. I'm also going to contact the United States humane society organization directly. If you can't abide by your own rules, then you shouldn't be doing that job. Read the other reviews on this page and see the evidence of her bias. Thank you
