I've been going tp Greenvill Animal Shelter since 2009. Friendly, knowledgeable staff have treated my cat, Blue for rabies shots, as well as whatever additional shots they advised. Had a dog, Seraphina, which they treated for five years. Good staff. Five stars.
Disgusting and inhumane, you can smell the animals as far as the parking lot. The insides had urine and feces everywhere outside of the cages, with flies all about. 3 stray sickly kittens were walking about outside the cages. The vicious animals were intermingled with the docile animals and sickly ones. There was no way of knowing which was which other than the animal’s reactions to people. The animals looked unkept and seemed ready to be free. It was hot and muggy, the smell unbearable. Was told animals were $70 when the site says $65 by the guy working there who wasn’t even attending to the animals. He told us he knew nothing about them which is a huge liability, and a grimy way of handling “business” which comes off as a hustle. This place is extremely shady… Animals looked sickly and unclean. This place needs to be shut down especially considering it’s considered a “kill zone” for unwanted animals not adopted in time
They were not at the shelter like they said they were going to be. I had to call the after hours to get them to come out. They forced me to pay 25 dollars to get my dog back after telling me they wouldn’t charge me when I called. They withheld from me the knowledge that they are a kill shelter. When they brought her out I could see she was afraid of the man who brought her to me. I have reason to believe they starved her and possibly harmed her as she was bleeding and skinnier after I got her home.
Their wasn't any lights or the guy didn't turn any on because excessive heat advisory. picked out a small dog, paid the $65.00 fee he took my address and phone #. I was going home with my sweet fur baby.
I thank God for them helping dogs find a good home. I was blessed with my baby Diamond (Chiweenie). She's one years old and I love her. She's truly a gift from God to me. She is so happy and that makes me happy knowing that she's happy and knows that she is loved.🤗😍 They also paid for Diamond shots and to get her spade. I just paid $65.00 for her. I will pay for her next set of shots next year.🤗😍
I volunteered here with a program a couple of years ago and I still think about this place to this day. It should be shut down or gain massive funding to restart EVERYTHING. The dogs were kept in a barn out back and many were wet and shivering. There were no lights on, they sat cold and wet in the dark all day. I left work that day sobbing. My biggest regret is not doing something to save those poor animals.
