I was really disappointed by this clinic and Dr. Benson has a terrible bed side manor and I didn’t like how he treated one of my pups. Very happy Bond Vet is around. Expensive and unnecessary

I recently got a new puppy, my first dog, and was excited by Benson because they have such good reviews on Google specifically noting that staff are knowledgeable and explain things clearly. This has unfortunately not been my experience. I made an appointment for a basic health check and 1st vaccination for a new puppy, and received no guidance or recommendations about diet, socializing before vaccinations, when and which vaccinations my dog should get outside of the core series, when my dog should get spayed, etc. These are all things I had to research for myself later. As a new pet owner, I am unsure of what questions I need to be asking, and need a doctor who will give me guidance. During this appointment, my dog went into the examination room in the back where I could not see her. The doctor asked me if my dog was experiencing any acute symptoms, provided me with ambiguous answers to my direct questions for five minutes, and provided me no additional information. I was told my dog was fine, and was sent on my way. My dog got her first vaccination, and nobody told me where she had gotten the shot, that she might be sore in that area or tired later, or if I should look out for any adverse reactions. I felt that I got very little from this appointment and was charged over $200. I am confused about my experience at Benson and feel as though I cannot trust this hospital with my pets care. As I have never had a pet before, I have nothing to compare my experience to. I will say that all staff are personable.

Benson's animal hospital has been around for a long time. I've had a very good experience there; I find the staff very friendly and helpful. Dr Benson is a highly qualified veterinarian with a good bedside manner. My dogs can't wait to get inside, of all things; must be the treats. Hmmm.

Parents this vet does NOT do xrays as a part of teeth cleaning and 2/3 of the tooth is below the gum line. It is impossible to see if a tooth needs to be extracted without xrays and when I told the front desk NOT to extract any teeth without first talking with me, Dr Benson demanded I pick up my little girl and told me he would no longer clean her teeth today (I had already signed the approval to extract form, and I was changing my mind) This is who will be taking care of your little ones so think twice before you bring him or her here for a dental cleaning, which again is not complete nor thorough. Lastly, Dr. Benson's bedside manner is abrupt and not comforting and he was bothered that I had a list of questions for him when I brought her in for the blood work.

I thought because this vet clinic charges so much that they would provide excellent service unfortunately the exact opposite is true. I found this location to be unclean. They “require” unnecessary procedures and then are unable perform them. I was able to watch as they worked on my pet through the window. The vet and the vet techs do to not wear gloves. They acted inexperienced and rough with my non-aggressive Siamese kitten. The vet could not find a vein to take blood. Afterward, the vet tech was -strangling- my cat while the cat wasn’t even struggling. My pet was traumatized by the experience and returned home filthy from being handled so roughly by so many people. My kitten also developed a lump because the vet tech injected a vaccine into her leg too quickly and didn’t massage the area. Poor practices and untrained care given. I ended up getting the service I was looking for at Montgomery County Humane Society for about 6 times less cost.

If I could do lower I would. We had a Morning appointment to follow up from an er visit for our new puppy. Not only did they have us wait over a hour after our appointment but When we brought up concerns that the er vet had about our puppy's blood work. "Dr." dismissed it and refused to do any blood work. Turns out we have every right to be concerned as when we took him to a new vet, his blood work is showing signs of something serious. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR CONCERNS TOTALLY IGNORED.
