Please adopt our friend and donate to the shelter, their staffs compassion was greatly appreciated. Thursday we had to surrender our friend for adoption. We already had other rescued cats and couldn't take another. It was with many tears and deep sorrow we made this decision. Months ago he came into our lives while living under a deck. He wore a red collar bow tie and we named him Pee-Wee. We searched online to find his home, we had no luck. He was abandoned, scared, hungry and needed help. One day we saw he was injured, rushed him to the emergency pet hospital for care, they estimated he was 6 months old. We nursed him back to health in our basement, then took him to our vet for microchiping, shots, and neutering. Pee-Wee is a wonderful cat, who craves love and companionship. He enjoys getting pets, being held, playing with toys, cat wands, laser lights, and climbing cat trees. His favorite meal is extra gravy wet cat food and he enjoys napping next to you with one little paw out to touch you so to be certain you are there. We pray that he finds a loving home. We miss him dearly and still shed tears for him. Again, we thank the shelter staff for their kindness and the future adopters for giving Pee-Wee a chance at a better life. If you are seeking to adopt a cat for your home, we simply ask that you please consider our dear friend Pee-Wee. Thank you. 😭

I will say this repeatedly. After seeing the video of our Samson the day he was returned here again. Broke my heart to see an animal in that much distress. Something told me he needed to come to our family. A family that will love and cherish him. Though he is still haunted with so much anxiety, this is a Happy boy. Yesterday he got a bath and after everyone showed up home he made sure he showed them. That was our old girl but now he resumed the role. So proud after 4 yrs of having him, he is becoming his own. Don't know how he will be after the old girl passes. They are a team. Already told family, he can't go through any more disappointment. I will go back to The Center, do however many meetings, and find him the perfect match. Just like we did him. Thank all of you for everything you do.

Cleanest shelter I’ve ever been in. Doesn’t smell like others do. Everyone is super friendly. Adoption was easy and fast. They truly care about animals and where they go and that your a good fit. Drove almost 2 hours one way for my adoption and it was a great experience. A friend is fostering a cat and saw a cat that fit me perfectly. So I looked at the pics and agreed. Made an appointment. Filled out the application. Not sure how others said you can’t pick. My friend definitely picked hers and I definitely picked mine. You obviously have to be a good match for the cat or dog your wanting. I always let my pets pick me. When I walked in my cat immediately touched my head w hers which is a huge indicator your chosen. If a cat doesn’t do that I personally don’t feel right taking it home. I highly recommend them. Best Shelter I’ve ever been too

Never once encountered anyone rude at this shelter throughout my entire adoption process like the other reviewers proclaim. Everyone was very kind, the process was quick/easy, and I absolutely loved that I was able to adopt this cutie for free as a military veteran.😊

Made the drive with my family to spend time giving attention to the cats that are unfortunately not currently living in forever homes. My wife and I had previously adopted cats from this shelter and donated food and blankets as a wedding gift many years prior. We were told that we could fill out a form and someone would schedule a time for us to see certain cats that would best suit us. That’s all well and fine, but what about the people out there wanting to donate their time to showing love and affection to cats that spend their day in a room. 3 stars. 5 for previous experiences at the shelter but that had to be lowered once my youngest son cried on the drive home after being turned away from petting them today.

Had a great experience here! This shelter is nicer than others in the area. You can tell the staff cares about the animals and that they put time and effort into training them while they are on their way to adoption. Our puppy had basic obedience, was potty trained and is extremely friendly to both people and animals. This has made adopting our puppy a great experience. Something simple they do that shows their heart is bringing a new puppy up to the front desk every day to give them a break from their kennels. Great local shelter!
