I noticed they actually really feed their dogs very well. They had a lot of knowledge on most of the adoptable dogs in their kennels and the ones they didn't know much about they had just received or had only been there a few days. I really would love to donate some things to this shelter to help them with what they are doing. Wonderful people, I'm unsure of the young skinny man's name who assisted us but I'm looking forward to going back and paying for the trial adoption dog we have from here.

Absolutely a horrible experience. I called to place puppies in the animal shelter and they informed me since they were 8 weeks old, that I would have to pay $20 per dog to surrender them. The man that I spoke to on the phone should have never answered it because he had not one clue of anyway to answer any question that I had. Apparently you're not allowed to take an animal to any animal shelter, it has to be a shelter in your county. I was trying to place the puppies in a no-kill shelter and they recommended a shelter that they were not sure whether if it was a kill shelter or not. Then the lady recommends that I find some women on Facebook and see if she can take them or know somebody who will take them. I would say that both Russell and Adair County need reevaluating for their animal shelters, if they want funding for them. The mother was a stray that showed up here and gave birth. I was kind enough to take care of them until they were old enough to leave and I figured I would take them to the animal shelter and it would be easier for them to get adopted since they were still puppies, but I have to pay $20 per dog to give them that opportunity. 8 week old puppies were turned away because the county that I live in, $20 to surrender and a lack of compassion. I say if you can adopt a dog from there go get it just to get it away from them. I feel they need a new staff.
