This organization is amazing! They provided me with a service dog and training so we can work together. The after care is also truly amazing from the routine veterinary care to preventative medicine and food for the dog provided by Fromm. Southeastern Guide Dogs, and all the people who support their mission, have given me a new life. After less than a week with my new dog, my wife said that she sees the happiness back in my eyes for the first time in a long while.

I have been a puppy raiser since 2017. I am currently arranging to pick up puppy #8 to raise. Dogs inc (SEGD) has been great to work with. There support teams are so helpful when questions about the pups health come up, or behavior issues arise. Always there to help. Always encouraging and remind us that most of the problems we encounter are not unique.love working with all of the staff at the school!

Helping others while enjoying the benifits of raising a puppy. We have raised five guide dog puppies and can share the benifits it brings to our family. It's a great experience with structured training provided to set you up for success. We also realized, raising our puppy helped our daughter appreciate the benifits of responsibility, set up for success attitude and the joys of helping others in need. This organization supports all raisers throughout the process and makes you feel at ease with everything that comes with raising a puppy.

An experience of a lifetime! I lost the majority of my sight due to glaucoma over 10 years ago. Last summer I applied to South Eastern Guide Dogs as I felt I needed the help of a dog to navigate the area in which I live. Especially in the summer as our population doubles. Their communication is very clear on the application process. References, doctor appointments, telephone interview and the final step is the in home visit. The home visit is very informative and this is wear they measure your pace. Now you wait. In the meantime, you will complete your on line course work. This is a critical process as they prepare you for your new hero. Learn your cues. One less thing you will have to learn. Once you get the call that they have found your match, you will head to Palmetto Florida. The campus is spectacular‼️ The grounds and facilities are immaculate. The trainers, administrators, housekeepers and the chefs are so helpful and kind. I felt so welcomed. My room was perfect. The 3 weeks of training was intense. Very structured schedule which we needed. I was in a group of nine handlers plus nine dogs and trainers. Your personal trainer will provide you your on-the-job training. One word of advice is to listen to your trainer. They know what’s best for you and your dog. The time will fly bye so take every opportunity to learn and improve. The days are full (and hot 🥵) but well worth it! We are home now and everyone is adjusting so well. I am doing what I was taught. He sleeps in his new crate, eats on time and is learning my neighborhood. Stanley is truly my hero and always by my side. Just remember to “Trust Your Dog” and good luck 🐾🦮 Bob M.

When I picked up my 1st puppy, Stevie (yellow male lab), I was a little nervous that I wasn’t cut out for a big job like puppy raising. But thanks to the abundance of support, physically, mentally, and financially, I was able to raise Stevie to be such a good boy who is now a college freshman. I am raising my second puppy, Banana (black male lab), currently. Both boys have been handfuls in their own ways but SEGD has so much support that will help you through the highs and lows. I’m so honored to be a part of such a beautiful mission!

My husband and I just spent our first year being Puppy Raisers. We wanted a charity that we both had an interest in and raising a puppy hit the mark. We had a puppy named Campbell, and she was a dream! The labs are so loving and smart, you fall in love instantly. We spent the year teaching her basic skills and loving her to pieces in our home. Our team was the MacDill Puppy Raisers, and the people we met and did onsite trainings with were awesome! We did have to keep reminding ourselves that we would be turning Campbell in for further training so she could move on and bring opportunities to someone that needed her skills. It was tough to turn her in, but the light she is going to bring to someone's life so they can be as blessed as us is priceless. We have been fortunate to have had this experience and look forward to raising our next puppy.
