We pre-adopted this sweet guy that we got to meet because of a hurricane he was not at the prison doing training for a short break from it. What a great dog! He was so gentle, playful, loving, and he adored the kids. We found our new best friend. We reached out to where he is getting trained (greyhound advancement center) to find resources for potentially service training him for our ASD daughter with asthma as they have experience with this, and overall just an excellent collaboration they have with this shelter. Fantastic work being done by both parties to find loving and forever homes for the animals they serve! 5 stars! The office staff are also such sweet and caring people. Amazing volunteers. I highly recommend coming to meet their dogs. ❤️ Such a happy family counting down the days to get our new family member.

We adopted Hailey, she's an Amstaff. She went through the training program with the prison system, and what an absolute angel she is. We've had several small dogs and decided to take on a much bigger dog. We will be doing this again!!

We adopted our kitty from here a year ago Christmas...She is the very BEST cat ever!! She's so smart, loving and purrrrfect for our family! We could never ask for a better cat. We love our Allie (formerly Sabrina). She's a blessing to us!

Real people. Real hearts. Real rescue. I know the staff of the stellar Humane Society of Lake County well. They work their hearts out daily to save animals from high kill shelters, choosing the ones adopters and other rescues pass up. These are the hidden gems, the diamonds in the rough like Faith here. Angie and Ciji along with their dedicated, welcoming staff, have a commitment to doing things the right way and always choose what's best for their animals. I've watched them in action and these women are a force of nature in Florida rescue. Lucky animals to land here on their way to forever loved!
