Description We opened as a dog cafe in 12/2019 but closed in March due to Covid-19. We reopened in 12/2020 to do dog adoptions but the cafe remains closed. We rescue shelter dogs from NM, TX and Eastern WA and board them in a non-traditional shelter setting. We take them on car rides, days out at the park, provide plenty of off leash play time with one another in a supervised environment. This significantly reduces kennel stress and increases socialization, resulting in healthier, happier pups! Adoption meet and greets are strictly by appointment.

What a wonderful organization! The thought and care that they put into each adoption is incredible and we went home with tons of tips and information. We love our dog Poncho, who we adopted through HoD so much. They are just the best! đ€
Our journey began after our beautiful hound dog, Tana, had passed. Husband was convinced we shouldnât adopt again (for a long while) because it was tough losing his best pup. Fast forward to a video of âBrutusâ on Haus of Dogâs website. A friend had adopted through them and recommended highly. Long story short, we had a wonderful experience with the entire process. We had a lot of information and, once our pup arrived (saved from a kill shelter in Texas), we met with Aishah Hammock, who helped us with everything! She has the heart, temperament and knowledge to run things. So caring. She even responded to my early concerns about his behavior, but, a couple of months later he settled in and, now? Canât imagine our lives without him. Oh, heâs Bruno now. Bell of the neighborhoodâ„ïžđ¶best boy! Supporting a local place that does such a great service for our community feels good. Thank you so much! Dan, Carrie and Bruno Connolly
Thank you so much to THoD for bringing our little family together! We love our little tripod and the experience with this wonderful rescue was amazing. Aishah was super communicative, flexible and definitely has the best interest of each dog as her top priority.
My partner and I have been looking for a dog for roughly two years. As first-time dog owners, we wanted to ensure the dog we brought home would fit our limited knowledge, which added to the search challenge. We filled out an application with The Haus of Dogs roughly a month ago. We received a call back from Aishah to let us know that the dog we were interested in had just been adopted, something I have heard many times, and although I selfishly wish I had the chance to adopt, I was glad to hear they found a good home. I was ready to end the call and begin a new search, but Aishah did something I did not expect: she asked me what kind of dog I was looking for. I explained our living situation, job demands, and status as newbie dog owners, and she quickly matched us with Gunner. She sent us his profile and offered to keep our preferences on file so that she could quickly match us with someone else if Gunner wasnât a match. We set a meet and greet and immediately knew that Gunner was perfect! Three weeks later, he is still the perfect match. He has now collected a box of toys and has been absolutely spoiled by us, friends, and family, who all adore him! However, it does not end there. Aishah has lent us supplies to help get started, has answered questions and concerns about dog ownership days and weeks after his adoption, has provided advice that I would otherwise have to pay for to learn, and has even offered to pet sit if need be. Aishah is an incredibly generous, caring, kind, and patient person who is truly devoted to her cause. I could not wish for a better person, and by extension, rescue, to find my first dog at. I feel so supported and understood; she has made the trials of new dog ownership much less challenging, and I am so grateful to have her on this journey. Thank you, Aishah, for Gunner and all that you do!
Aisha is the absolute best! Her efforts have saved countless doggo lives while enabling the community to connect with their future furry family members. We adopted a rescue from her a year ago, it was the best experience and we are absolutely enamored with our dog, Bailey. Aisha is kind, communicative and delivered a world class adoption experience. Donât shop, adopt (from The Haus of Dogs, preferably đ)
My partner and I decided to adopt a dog through this group - we couldn't risk a shelter dog we wanted a dog that would go well with our other pets and our lifestyle. We found our dog, which we love dont get me wrong, but his advertisement lied completely. We were told he's trained on leash, never had an accident in the house, claimed he was the most well behaved dogs they'd ever had, they also said he'd go perfect with our apartment life, saying he's very laid back. All of this was incorrect- which for the last 3-4 months we've had him, we thought maybe it was him adjusting to the lifestyle. He's had multiple accidents in the house, four this month, we take him out very often for long periods of time, he actively holds it in. He takes food from our plates and hands, eats the other animals foods, pulls extremely hard on on the leash and is very very reactive to other dogs and people on the street. Obviously we thought we were doing something wrong, so we did a lot of research (this isnt either of our first dogs, ive owned pitties and collies as worker and guardian dogs, and my partner has owned various house dogs) but everything we tried never seemed to work. We love our dog, despite his difficulties, but we would not have dropped 600$ on him if we were told how he actually was, we could've just gone through with a shelter dog (including the 400$ deposit). Edit: If you actually read what we said- we explained why we ruled out shelter dogs and why we didn't reach out about his behaviour issues (we wanted to give it time, like we were suggested in the texts when we explained he was having issues using the bathroom in the house, we were told he was probably adjusting, so we wanted to give him a few months considering it was very clear he had anxiety issues. He had his behaviour issues the second he was here, it wasnt learned from us - we did very well, and like I said did research to try and alleviate his clear anxiety issues (which we werent made aware of). Not everybody has hundreds of dollars to constantly obedience train, which we didnt expect we would need, considering we spent 600$ on a dog we hoped wouldnt need obedience training, AGAIN why we didnt go to a shelter. The deposit we were referring to was the one we made to our apartment. Were not saying they lied, (except maybe abt the anxiety), but i feel the foster didnt spend actual time with this dog. He has severe separation anxiety, and anxiety in general, he screams at the front door when we leave, he's constantly shaking. We assumed he was previously abused, which we werent told about, considering he's always been like this. No, we do not want to rehome him, we love him very much. And this rescue was incredibly professional and quick, we just wanted to express openly that we feel it is important that a dog like this one, (reactive, extremely anxious) are rehomed properly into care that can provide and cater to his exact needs. I included the fact I owned border collies because we raised and TRAINED border collies as working dogs, we do not need to hire a trainer.
