After the recent death of our 15-year-old cat, we decided to get another one from a shelter. My first visit to Kitty Harbor was to kind of check the place out. Upon entering the premises, I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the shelter was clean and odor free despite all the cats they had. Additionally, I could see that the cats were well taken care of and all looked healthy. After seeing the cats and speaking to someone about the adoption process, I went home and filled out the online application and a week later went there and had my interview. We decided to get two cats, a mother and daughter named Jade and Junie who are now in their new home. The staff were ALL pleasant to speak to and I could tell that they all loved the animals in their care. We were given a number of gifts to take home which I thought was very generous...toys, food, blankets, carriers, catnip, etc. The adoption fee was quite reasonable and before we could take the cats home they were taken to the vet for updated shots. I highly recommend this shelter if you are looking to adopt a cat. I honestly can't understand some of the negative reviews that were given on this site.

I got Axel there a couple of weeks ago. It went fairly smoothly, but at the end there was confusion because they were checking out two of us at the same time. They made a copy of my cat's veterinary visits, but did not give it to me. I have been trying to reach them, even on Saturday, but they will not pick up the phone. I have no idea what is going on. I guess I'll have to take a ride up there some Saturday to see.

We went to pick up a kitten we did the application over 2 weeks ago and they NEVER called us back so we went on Saturday then they told us that we couldn't get one because someone else has the same dog we have and it killed all there cats kittens we have a great Pyrenees she is a gentle giant she grew up with cats and wouldn't hurt one so they judge you from other people's dogs which is not fair so if u have dogs don't bother going there because we were trying to explain she wouldn't do that then I think the lady started to make up stories about other dogs hurting kittens

This place is the best place that a lost or displaced kitty can go! The folks here are wonderful and love and care for these precious animals. When you walk in you can see that they are very well taken care of and I hate to imagine at what cost. I would love to get the word out about this place. I am so happy that they took in the cat and her kittens that we found had been abandoned by her owners. This is a wonderful place and when our family is ready to adopt a kitty...We know just where to go!!!

Fall Fest was today, a great opportunity to buy handmade cat related items that benefit Kitty Harbor, a wonderful and compassionate shelter for cats needing love and a forever home.

Just returned home from donating cat food to this ‘shelter’.. I thought to myself maybe I’ll adopt a kitten.. there were approximately 15 kittens.. the elderly woman was very rude.. the kittens appeared to be close to 8 weeks old.. I was interested in one and she said ‘oh no, he won’t be ready to go for about 4 months… humm.. so I asked about another kitten.. and she said ‘he’ll be ready in about 6 months’… I wanted to raise the kitten in a happy family environment.. but the old lady wanted them to be raised in cages instead.. shameful.. she ignored my other inquiries of other kittens.. she didn’t want to adopt any out.. this ‘shelter’ is just a guise for a cat hoarder.. she was truly miserable… never again… poor kittys…
