We adopted Lucy, a sweet, rambunctious 2 year old girl who is adjusting well! Melissa is AMAZING...I told her what I was looking for in a feline companion, she listened and found just the cat for us. I'm forever grateful to her for helping us find our new fur baby! Melissa does a great job of knowing every single animal and their personality, I can't say enough how amazing my experience was with Killingly Animal Shelter. They have a lot of loving animals that need homes, and the staff does an amazing job of answering questions, even after you've adopted your new furry friend.
I tried calling and emailing them about an obnoxious barking dog in my neighborhood at all hours of the night and into the morning and it took me sending in a video before they did ANYTHING. However, they turned around and gave the people my name! What kind of agency gives people your name when they can turn around and retaliate in a harmful way?! In this day and age, this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. Recently, the dog started up again. I emailed them again and they responded back that they will do NOTHING without a video and when I asked them to not give out my name, they responded that this is protocol. Completely unprofessional and useless government agency. Good luck with animal issues in this area with these monkeys running the show. (And if you have issues at night, they don't work at night! Good luck! Leave a message!)
If I could give them zero stars, I would. I had to pick up my dog from Killingly animal control. When I called them to see if they had my dog (who got out earlier that morning) they said yes and that my dog's paw is bleeding. And they told me they didnt have an aid kit to help my dog. After the phone call, I went straight to their location. (Which btw was 35 minutes away. My local animal control wasn't picking up their phone so I called the next closest animal control near me, which was Killingly.) When I showed up to pick up my dog, the lady said that they were going to take him to the vet, but didn't because the bleeding had stopped and that there was too much blood to tell where it was coming from. Once I got my dog home, there was blood all over my car. I went to check out his paw and he has a HUGE tear in his paw pad. There is NO way they could have missed this. And they neglected to take him to the vet or give him any medical help at all.
Called them because neighbors have two dogs and about ten cats with kittens ,heard a dog / cat fight that seemed to go on for about ten mins before I peeked out window to witness one of the adults in the house pick up a cat a SLAM it on ground !!!! These people are loud ,rude, dirty ,dogs are never outside ! And animal control came two days later to do nothing !!!!!!!
Dog thiefs nothing better to do with their time but sit outside people's houses and claim there dogs got lose and they picked them up.
do nothings!
